AMG 2008 Mexico City T-Shirt Design
« on: February 19, 2008, 03:30:12 pm »
Objective
Last year, we came together to create a symbol of unity in the form of a t-shirt.  This year, we hope to do the same and create another.  This is an open call to everyone on the forums to grab your color palettes, in whatever form, and submit your design for this years T-Shirt.  Please post ONLY your design below.  A seperate thread for descussion has been reserved at http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=8375.0   Final day for submission is April 30, 2008.

Submitted designs not chosen for this years t-shirt may be used on other items such as this years AMG compolation cd.

Design Guidelines
Vector format is preferred.  However, all formats are eligible to be submitted (paintings, graphics, etc.).  Please limit your designs to 3 - 4 colors.  There should be no fading or bleeding of colors.

Judging
Judging will occur during the first couple of weeks of May via a forums poll.  Nightsweats and T-Cells will print the t-shirts.  Nightsweats & T-cells is a full service screenprint and design shop owned and operated by persons living with HIV/AIDS.  Every penny of profit from sales of their products, as well as this years t-shirts, goest directly into the hands of persons living with HIV/AIDS in the form of a paycheck.  For more information on Nightsweats and T-Cells, please visit http://nightsweats.com/.

Pre-Order
Further details will be supplied after the final design is chosen.  We expect the price to stay in line with last years purchase price of $15.  Orders can be placed online at

Visit http://amg-tshirt.com/default.aspx to place your order.

Cost:  Aproximately $15 per shirt.  Final price will be announced once chosen design is submitted to the printer.  Any profit made from the sale of these t-shirts will be immediately donated to the AMG Grants Committee.

Options:  Shirts are available in 5 sizes:  Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and XX-Large.

Method:  Pre-payment only via PayPal with a credit card, debit card, or check. A PayPal account is NOT required.

Order Deadline: June 30, 2008

Bump again!  I'm going to let this ride for another two weeks.  If there are no entries then we will have to scratch this project this year.

Please feel free to post even suggestions or tag lines.  If I can get just a little bit of help on this I can put something togethor.

Thanks
Dennis

Exactly what I was thinking, Jody!  Especially pyramids.  I just came up with a design with two colors of ink on black, unfortunately I don't know how to picture it here. Maybe when I get to work I can turn it into a pdf and then clip a pic of it? Any suggestions? it's a Word document right now.

I noticed when I typed out "AMG '08" I kept seeing the word, "AMIGOS," so my tag line is "Somos Amigos" ("We Are Friends")

Jody and Basquo,

Great ideas.  Pyramids are a powerful symbol.  And I love "Somos Amigos".  Isn't that what we are all about.  I will never forget a quote from one of our dear members.  "It's okay.  I understand.  I'm positive, too."   That is us.

I wish I was artistically unclined.  Someone, please take up this important aspect of AMG.

Ric

I still like our original design, if we can't decide on a back ground or it poses too many problems then maybe we can just stick with a black T-shirt with our original AMG Logo with "Somos Amigos", Mexico 2008 printed on it...just a thought.

Trying to see if this works; it would look good with our original logo, as Jan suggested. I think it's 3 colors: white +two shades of grey, but one of those could be purple and one yellow.

I really like that one, Basquo.  The saying, "we are friends", goes along with the song that Mini suggested for the CD - "I can be your friend"  ;D

Creighton, that's a good looking pyramid! I like the idea of two tones of gray rather than purple and gold/yellow. Those were my high school colors!
Please submit as it is; don't alter it. I think its simplicity is its beauty. (I like it by itself instead of with the original logo.)

I've received quotes back from NightSweats for this years AMG t-shirt.  Because of the apparent decreased attendance our order will be smaller.  Unfortunately, a smaller order doesn't give us the buying power we've had in the past, therefore increasing the price per t-shirt.

Please post your intentions to buy this years t-shirt.  You don't have to attend the event to purchase.  If I can get 20 confirmed orders than I can maintain the $15 price we've had the past couple of years.

If no one has objections, I'll revise last years website for placing orders.

Peace,
Dennis

I'm sure you will get the 20 orders that are needed..if not then how much are we looking at for the T-shirts?

Thanks Dennis.

Do we need to confirm the t-shirt orders here?  If so, then we'll need 3 of them: 2 adult and 1 kiddie sized (or the smallest adult possible)

Sorry for not checking in more often.  I am working for you all behind the scenes though.  Between work, school, moving into my new home, and other projects I have going on there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day.

I'm Currently trying to figure out and plan our meet and greet which is proving to be difficult this year.  Please don't be disappointed if this year event is on a smaller scale than last year.

I'll have further details on ordering t-shirts within the next couple of days.
