I am not in Poz Magazine, but in Poz Focus.

I guess you can find December's issue on line, then hopefully you will find me and
what was said about us women being on meds and how it has changed our bodies..

Check it out, when you have time.

Just received my copy of both poz mag and poz focus today in the mail..
I am only in poz focus. ...

I don't know If its available online, but you can give it a shot..

Hope this helps us women with our body fat and all the rest of the great things
that comes with taking hiv meds.. :-\

Ubotts:

I don't get Poz in the mail.  Usually if there's something I find interesting, I read it online.  Can I access your story online as well?  Maybe if you could provide a link.  I sure would love to read it.

I know you can access poz magizine..but try typing poz forum, and look for Decembers issue..Its all about women and Lipoatrophy....

My lovers says I am crazy for putting myself out there like this, showing my name and a photo of myself...

She is worried her family might see it, or other friends of ours..

But I dont care anymore who knows..

I believe I did the right thing for us women..

We want change..and we need change to our bodies as well..
I just hope this article wasnt in in vane. I hope they come out with meds that will cut lipoatrophty at least in half for us gals.

Anyway..Try to google it as POZ FORUM then look for Decembers issue, then on the
3rd page, to the left side, you will see my photo and my name..Liz Kahn..
ok..let me know if that works..If not, I will email Jennifer, the women who told me
about this and ask her how can I make our forum see the article..ok..
Have a happy thanksgiving..luv n stuff Ubotts.

I googled poz focus and found the previous issues but I don't think you're online yet.

You can tell your GF the chances of someone who isn't poz of involved/working with someone poz seeing this are pretty slim I guess, anyway you are so brave.

Thank you for doing this, for coming forward so couragously.

Love n stuff  ;) & happy thanksgiving

Beth -- once it is only, you'll see its cover added to this page: http://www.poz.com/index_focus.shtml.

I think it's great you did this -- you're going to help so many people that deal with this issue.  Putting yourself forward like this was selfless and courageous.

Hi Peter

Thank you for the link, but your right, I only see the cover of poz focus..I am inside on
the 3rd page and I guess you cant open up the poz focus ..I tried..

I did also receive in the mail this issue of Decembers POZ Magazine, with 3 extra copies
of Poz Forums...(from Jennifer) the women who had asked me if I would do this.)

I am going to send one to my family and one to my friend..and I have to keep one
for myself..

I am going to ask Jennifer, (the one who got me to do this) if theres anyway she
could put page 3 online for the rest of the people to view..

If not..please stop by your doctors office, and I am sure, there will be plenty of
Pamphlets around of poz focus...

Hope that helps....

Thank the rest of you for telling me I have courage....
Someone had to speak for us and I noticed out of 5,000 and something people in the
group, I was the only one who said Yeah.. Ill do it..ummmmmmmmm

Guess everyone else is in the closet.......But I understand that some are working and
don't want there fellow workers to view it, or friends that don't have the slightest clue
that your hiv or has aids..

I just did what was need for us women to be done...Ha..
call me Rosa Parks..Some one had to sit in the front of the bus, for things to change 8)

Just turn to the third page , left hand side, and it will say Liz Kahn, and Lipodystrophy..

ok Here it goes..
NoLooking At Options

Liz Kahn, a 52-year-old woman who just moved from the Bronx to Bradley Beach, New Jersey, has been living with HIV since 1987. Noticeable fat loss in her legs and arms took her by surprise last year.

"I had no idea this would happen," she says. "I look like Humpty Dumpty with my legs and arms so skinny and my body blown up in the middle."

Though she's normally physically actice, Liz feels her body-shape changes are taking a toll on her lifestyle: "I don't even want to go to the beach... because people say, 'Why are your legs so thin?'"

When Liz's doctors were unresponsive, she went online and looked for information on her own.

Her research led her to switch a part of her treatment regimen (with her doctor), from Combivir to Truvada. Though Liz hopes the switch will keep things from "getting any worse," research suggests it may help her quest to restore the lost fat.

photo was attached to this link, but at least you can read my article..
