Mr Andy, Miss Ann...please help me with this
« on: September 14, 2007, 05:53:42 pm »
Hello guys :).I live in one small European Country.Thank you for this web, it is amazing and educational. Reading your answers to the anxiety guys(like me) gives me hope tor live. :)
What worries me is that in late December I have received unprotected oral sex from one girl(and I ejaculated in her mouth) who I think is very high risky person. After that I planed to have protected sex with her, but in the break when we were talking about sex, she told me that her ex girlfriend (this woman was bisexual by the way) was diagnosed with hep B, and that scared me a lot,:-( so I was scared and refused to have sex with her after that even with a condom on. I thought that I was familiar with the modes of hiv and hep b transmission, but this incident scared me a lot.I have found some web sites saying that you can get hiv and hepB from receiving oral. What the...What else should i do to protect myself...abstinence, sucking with rubber?
I called this girl after 3 days because I was so anxious and told her to go and to do HepB and HIv test. She said ok, and went to the clinic. But while I was waiting the girl with the results, I went and received the first shot of hep b vaccine(that was the 6-th day after the incident).Girl showed me her hiv and hep b negative results(I was so happy)
But then a couple of days after  I've started to develop some weird symptoms on my penis, I went to the clinic, they tested me only for Chlamydia and Syphilis, and I was diagnosed with Chlamydia, i was not so worried about it, because I have found evidence at the internet and your web, that this STD is easy to catch if the person had active Chlamydia in his throat. Ok, so I was given 10 days of doxycyclin and 3 days of azithromycin therapy. I have had very troubles with these pills because after the treatment i have developed pain in my chest and in my stomach :-(.
But exactly after 89 days from my potential exposure (I know that this is too late for the ARS to come) I have had strange feeling in my body…night sweats, pain under my chin, difficulty swallowing etc.I went back to the doc and he did the same test and….Chlamydia again…..what the F**k, after that kind of treatment (I did not have sex with her and with no one, because I was so scared), the bacteria shows positive again??? He then prescribed, 5 days od oral ampicilin, 6 days cipro treatment and 5 days of azithromycin. At that period your site was only friend of mine, i did not speak to anyone. 3 or 4 weeks after those antibiotics I have developed candida in my mouth and i think in my throat ( i can feel it in my throat). The doc gave me 2 weeks of Nystatin…but this is not working, I can steel feel it.1What are the odds that this thrust be related to my use of antibiotics in the past and stress, but hot hiv? Please 2. Why to h..l first treatment did not cure the bacteria? 3.Is it obviously that this Candida on my tongue and my throat is result from the antibiotics?

I have learned so much about hiv and other std's this period, i know that having active penile Chlamydia can increase your chances of getting hiv (because of the white blood cells at the site of infection which are easy target for hiv to enter the body, and i Know that person who is having one of this bacteria in his genitals can easily transmit them or/+ Hiv if the person is hiv + positive(because of the much more high viral load in the vaginal secretion or sperm at the time of infection). But can I be the rare case that high viral load at the site of infection in her mouth and the saliva transmitted hiv to me (if she was in her window period)? I know that the odds for me to be hiv - are astronomical in my favour, but after reading the archives   I didn't ever seen for somebody to become hiv + after this kind of minimal exposure
Andy, Ann pls, I know this i a hiv web site but do you think that I can have protection even without HBIG? I have read that hepB vaccine given 7 days after potential exposure can prevent infection, but I did not receive that HBIG, only a vaccine, and i finished with the third shot i n 6 moths.
What do you think about candida?

Thank you in advance

Chlamydia is not an HIV-specific occurence nor would it make you vulnerable to getting HIV from a blowjob. And whether you ejaculate or not while getting serviced doesn't make you more or less vulnerable to infection.

In the entire history of the epidemic there has never been a single confirmed case of transmission from a guy getting a blowjob. It's safe to say you aren't going to make history by becoming the first.

If you are having troublesome symptoms that is something to discuss with your doctor. This is absolutely not an HIV situation. Period.

Get on with your life and just make sure you wear a condom everytime you have intercourse. No exceptions.

Cheers,
Andy Velez

Mr Andy, thank you so much for your prompt reply :-) You calmed down me nerves.
But what worries me a lot is this candida in mu mouth and throat.I have read that antibiotics related candida can happen while taking the antibiotics, and it can clear up when you stop with the antibiotics. But can someone get nasty candida after 3-4 weeks after the antibiotic treatment.I was on different strong antibiotics(doxycyclin, azithromycin, cipro) but not for a long period of time in the past.Any answer to that pls? Do you think I will need stronger antifungal medication, because Nystatyn does not helping me?

Thanks

Vili,

You need to discuss these matters with the doctor who prescribed you the drugs. We cannot help you with that here.

What we can tell you is that you did not have a risk for hiv infection from this experience.
