There are some people...
« on: January 19, 2010, 07:09:50 pm »
I would gladly take a baseball bat to and never think twice about it..one of those is the man who owned this little SA Boar Goat...he was boasting about how he managed to stop the goat from jumping the fence by breaking his leg...he broke his leg and then just just left him, thankfully one of those he was boasting to got hold of the RSPCA and they in turn got hold of us.

Hubby and I take in abused and neglected goats get them back to being happy and healthy and then find homes for them, but because of the ongoing health issues this little one is facing it would be hard to get him a home, so we have decided to keep him, he is a lovely natured wee thing and very friendly.

His name is Macgyver, we are going to keep the name , it seems to fit him he is a strong little bugger.. ;D

Hugs
Jan :-*

Nothing makes my blood boil more then hearing stories of children or animals being abused.
Jan, will his leg ever heal ?

Thanks for looking after the little guy.

Hi everyone

He is learning to walk again, he also has foot rot in his other hoof, so he has spent a long time walking on his knees and trying to eat, standing was too painful for him, I take him on a wee walk for about five mins morning and evening, just around the paddock so he can get the feel of his legs again and five mins is not too much for him.

Stache...the vet is going to see whether or not it's worth breaking his leg again, he thinks maybe the damgae has already been done, there's a lot of infection and swelling at the break point so it might not make a difference..we will see.

Jody..we have to keep him seperate from the rest at the  moment, they will bully him being the new kid on the block, but Jody will be happy it means he won't be the last one down the food chain any more.. :D

I cannot stand stories like that involving helpless animals. >:(   Thank heavens someone called authorities, and that you are there to make a difference in the poor goat's life.  You really are an angel for these creatures, Jan.  That's not surprising.

Jesus, that man should have the same thing done to him as he did to the goat!  Seriously!  What a sick and cruel SOB!   >:(  I'm sending you a bat via express post.

MacGyver is cute and there's not a doubt in my mind that he's going to thrive under your loving care.

Good for you and Jim for taking him in.

If there's one thing that makes me angry it is animal abuse. Jan, if you find that man please whack him with that bat three times on my behalf.

This lil baby is a cutie. Nice addition to your family :). I'm sure that he is happy with his new home.

Hi
Just to let you all know that the bastard who thought he had broken Mac's leg had only pulled the knee out of the socket, (still extremely painful) it would have popped so dickhead would have assumed he had broken it...we had an x-ray done yesterday, the vet put him under and put the knee back.

He still has a limp and still having trouble putting weight on it but it will come right with some TLC and lots patience.

We also picked up a wee 4 month old Angora today from the RSPCA as a play mate for Macgyver, the others are still a bit too rough on him and he was getting a bit lonely in the paddock...we are also hoping that our little girl Jenny will take to Gus and give us a beautiful little Togenburg/Angora Kid when she's ready.

Edited to add..introduced Gus and Jenny this morning and it's official..my little girl is a slut, she chased that little man around the paddock, talk about desperate.. ;D

I think Mac is quite taken with the little fella, he even brough him some leaves to eat.. :D
Hugs
