I know they edit the hell out of interviews to fit a narrow time frame, but did they ask you about your own relationship and how this law would effect you and Iggy? What kind of activism do you guys plan to do to defeat this legislation in such a conservative southern state?

I loved the Doc's white socks.

Geez Hal,

Outside of Jeromy putting his face and name out there in front of a "conservative southern state" as you mention, and us working with local groups, I'm kind of curious of what you expect Jeromy to do - it seems more than most..can you please clarify?

Modified: It might help me understand the meaning of your statement if you could be so generous as to provide some examples of your own activism with your full name and picture out there as way of guidance. Much obliged.

As far as your question about the relationship - the reporter did ask Jeromy which he happily responded, but the final report focused on the issues and not the individual personalities. What an incredibly advance way of thinking, eh?

I'm extremely proud of Jeromy who is out in his work and his community.

My partner lives in Toronto and it is SO refreshing to visit a country where being gay is
considered normal and gay marriage is an everyday thing. Someday I may cross the boarder
and never look back!

Reflecting on the recent ruling here in CA, I thought about how legal gay marriage might help slow the rate of hiv transmission/infection in the gay community. An overly-hopeful thought ?

Tennessee Health Care Campaign

We spend the majority of our time trying to persuade some redneck legislator in Nashville to vote for or against some pending healthcare bill or budget cut. We advocate for the uninsured, which means the poor, so it's a tough sell. We're fighting tooth and nail right now trying to stop the Governor from slashing dollars from an already meager healthcare budget. Though are successes are few, we continue to fight the good fight. I was just curious to know if/how you dealt with conservative politicians.

It amazes me how these guys get elected.

Well...I don't let up. I have been thrown out of a senator's office once...I remain vocal. The minute that we are silent and quiet, we lose.

Yeah, I noticed that one also. Erm....that's exactly what you're trying to do.

Funny -- that gay marriage couple they showed briefly near the end of your interview are friends of mine -- the one of the right used to be my massage therapist before he became a lawyer.

Good Job Dude! Being from SC, and having driven through Charlotte tonight, on my way to my brother's wedding I applaud you. Coming home tonight to my parent's house and going into the living room where all the gifts have been stored, going through this weekend and seeing my brother get married, knowing that I most likely will never see anything like this is a little depressing for what should be a great weekend. Still will be, but in the back of my own mind I know that no matter what, I would never be able to see anything like what he is getting.
