Hi guys first of all i wanna thank you for all the work you do for people that have lots of doubts and fears . Well about 3 weeks ago i had a risk situation with a girl i didnt know and i dont know her status , she gave me oral unprotected oral sex and then i put a condom not completly like 3/4 of my penis or maybe 1/2 didnt put it completly down then i gave her oral i remember having my lips dry afer that i stupidly try to put my penis inside her vagina without a condom but i rly dont know if i put it in at all and if i did it was only like half the glans and for about just a couple of seconds ,less than 15 or even 10. My Doubts are

1)if it was the case that she was hiv + what are the chances of me getting it?
2) after a couple of days i got sore throat not a  very strong one which i only feel when i yell or when i talk too much but 2 days ago i felt something in my neck painful not a lot of pain tho and it was between the bottom of my ear and the end of my lower mandibule i touch that place but nothing appeared to be swollen or large or anything it just hurt a bit when u touched it and it was only one and i fell a lil pain when i inflate the cheeks near my parotid gland close to the mandibule, i didnt felt anything else but those 2 symptoms no fever no nothing i even have more appetite so are those ARS symptoms?? ...overall what do you think ? Thank you very much in advance

You never had a risk of contracting HIV from oral sex.

Ty for answering so soon,i know that risk is theorical but what about the rest, the half glan penetration situation what im even more scared is the fact that what if she got hiv in the last couple of weeks when that virus is more virulent and regarding the symptoms im having do they appear in an ARS ?

You cannot have ARS if you've never had an exposure. If you are concerned about your signs and symptoms see your doctor. They are unrelated to HIV.

What you are describing about "half-glans in" is what is called "dipping." The risk is only theoretical and not what would be considered a real risk.

Essentially you are worrying unnecessarily. In the future it would be good to avoid that activity and just make sure you always wear a condom for intercourse.

I don't see any need for testing unless you need the inevitable negative result just for your peace of mind. Otherwise just get on with your life.

Alberto,

Do NOT post a photo here. We cannot diagnose you over the internet, so don't bother.

You need to show your mouth to a doctor or dentist. What you describe could be syphilis. However, it's not going to have anything to do with hiv as you have not had a risk for hiv infection.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

If you are concerned about your signs and symptoms see your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV.

Symptoms, or the lack thereof, mean absolutely nothing in terms of HIV infection. Some people have to spend time in the hospital with primary symptoms. Some never feel a thing.

I think that your level of anxiety is WAY more than your level of risk would dictate. If you feel you need to test in three months, by all means do that.

We have given you an assessment of your risk, and reminded you that we absolutely do NOT go by symptoms on this site.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."
