Damn.  My heat pump/AC just blew up and it's supposed to be 31 degrees F tonite.

Ouch !!  Do you have heat strips installed, in the air handler, if so, this may be enough to get you by without the outside unit running. Is there a switch on the thermostat, that says emergency heat ?

Unfortunately, no heat strips.  The a/c guy is coming first thing in the morning.  I 've got an electric oil filled radiator (space heater), but it's gonna be a long cold night.

For the weather geeks out there, read this and check out the map:

Amazing that it got to 39F in Havana, Cuba and it snowed on top of a volcano in Guatemala.

Weird.  Now our extended 15-day forecast is showing daily highs +40 F almost every day.

We had a beautiful day here today.  Got up to around 69 degrees.  Ed and I got out, and did our two mile walk today.  The sun, felt great on the face !  Saturday, supposed to be lousy again with 70% chance of rain.

It was wonderful here in Miami.  Not hot, not cold.  Drive with the top down playing the new Vampire Weekend CD kinda weather.

Where I live, that's about as warm as it gets in summer! Count your ass lucky!
