Our boys from Aussie (photo's)
« on: February 18, 2007, 09:49:42 pm »
Hi everyone

Got back from my Aussie trip last night, the summer clothes have gone back into storage so it's back to the old hoodie's and gum boots, but it's nice to be home...(I missed all my babies)

I had a wonderful 12 days with my darling girl Jen and spent a great day with Matty and Steve on my way home..it was so good to just sit there with them and finally meet them face to face...two very handsome men as you can see.

Steve..Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch it really was great to meet you, I only wish we had more time.

Matty..Thank you for the numerous cups of coffee and the hours of conversations and for the time you spent with me.

He will probably hate me for this but our Matty the damned, the fiend of the forums has a heart the size of Australia...(he just doesn't suffer fools gladly) and Steve is the darling I always knew he was...I wouldn't have missed seeing them for the world.

I hope you enjoy the photo's..how lucky was I.. ;)

Hugs
Jan :-*

P.S..I hope to catch with things soon but have lots to catch up here at home.

Good to have you back and glad you had a good time...I must have missed that you'd be away for awhile...when I realized I hadn't seen you posting recently, I had to go check your profile and was glad to see you had logged in a couple of days ago. No more vacations for you, we rely on those updates on your alpaca family and other posts, ya know?  :)

Great pictures, dear friend, and give Cora a kiss and a scratch for me!

Of all the pix I've seen of my beloved MtD, these are the best, perhaps because they are so damn immediate.

Thanks, Jan. I really am kinda happier right now-

Matty the Damned is living proof that appearances are indeed deceiving. A latter day behemoth, he stands lofty at 6'4" and weighs in at in excess of 220 lbs. He defies anyone to guess that he has what used to be referred to as full-blown AIDS. If there's any justice in the world that little bit of information should increase the panic of some of those who infest the Am I Infected? forum.

The entire afternoon was a delight. Sydney turned on it's finest weather. Many beers were consumed (though wisely our beloved Jan abstained) and a hundred weight of fine tobacco scented the air. Witty conversation and scandalising gossip abounded. It was such a pleasure to relive the glory days of the AIDSMEDS forums, a period when the forums actually read like an online community of HIV positive people, not a prime time television guide.

Jan was exactly as fabulous as I thought she'd be, and let me tell ya, that's pretty bloody fabulous. Little Steve was, as always, the gorgeous little canape of a man that I've come to know and love.

I've got to tell ya, we really brought the tone of the Dolphin Hotel (Crown Street Surry Hills) up several notches.

Good to see you all enjoying yourself in the sun there.  I always want to think of Matty as a big softy at heart but when I see pictures of him I just think if you got on the wrong side of him he could be terrifying!

Hi

Thank you all for your replies, they are indeed two special men..and I'm so glad I got to spend time with them...it just wasn't long enough.

I have to tell you this, the reason the photo's were taken sitting down was because we were sitting at a high table on high stools, (every time I got off I had trouble climbing back up)..if we had taken the photo's standing up you would have only seen Matty..he is 6ft 4in, I'm 5ft 1in. you wouldn't have seen me at all, I think I just about came up to his waist.. but in all fairness to Steve he was a little taller than me so you would have seen his head above the table.. :D.

They both made the end of my Aussie holiday all the more special just by being there for me, and for that I thank them both, and a special thanks to Matty who travelled 3.5 hours to come and see me and I hope I can do it again some day.

Thanks to you all.

Hugs
Jan :-*

Jan,

Thanks for posting the pics. It was just great to meet you. It was all too brief, but in the short time we had together, I got to see the angel that you are.
Packing for my other holiday, whilst still drunk, was an experience. Got to the airport just in time.
Thanks for making the effort and popping in to see Matty and I.
