Is it Jewish?

Besides if you dont eat Challah bread, or apples and honey your year will suck and a Mullah might drop a bomb on your head...thats if Obama and Pelosi and the gang dont bomb Iran first.

Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray isn't called "the Jewish Champagne" for nothing. Order a pastrami on rye and we're set! But I'm kinda sure that you can't locate such a delicacy in Shit Antonio.

omg, I just learned that there is a place here with Kobe beef pastrami!

I love challah bread.  It makes the best French toast.  It is so hard to find here.  Besides going to a bakery, I've only found it at one grocery store.

When I lived in Manhattan I lived across from this place on the Lower East Side, and am hence an honorary Jew. Check out their specialties for Rosh Hashanah! This is big time "read deal" challah in their store. Years later this place would routinely be featured on the Food Network and Martha Stewart, etc.

nice youtube clip

And on the other side of me was the legendary Yonah Schimmel Knish Bakery -- I bet most of you don't even know what a knish is!

ps: this has reminded me that challah bread is also good for making bread pudding, and I make a bourbon-soaked bread pudding annually for Christmas but use (un-buttered, un-toasted) Texas toast but challah would be better.

Happy Jewish New Year to all in these seemingly never ending difficult times the world faces...Yes, challah bread is nice and sweet and does make the best French toast.  It has to be cut just right, not too thin or too thick (kind of like body parts-LOL).  And a few of the restaurants in my neighborhood here in Queens make it very well.  But I always bring my own syrup, the 100% pure maple syrup, that comes from Vermont or Quebec as the restaurants always give you the Aunt Jemima or Log Cabin brands or worse those little no name packets that are horrible.

Be well dear friends.

Jody :)
