Broken condom with sex worker in bali

Hi everyone,

so, two nights ago i had intercourse with a javanese sex worker in bali

She is 22 years old and looked healthy by my account, im only relaying this because this is what the doctor asked me. The doctor also said i could go to the hospital in denpesar and they could prescribe pep if they thought the risk was great but she didn't seem to really enforce that i go, she said i could go if i want, but also said she gets many patients like me in her clinic and for me to try not think about it as she could see how worried i was. She did give me medicine for gonorrhea which i've already started taking

the condom was fine for the majority of the experience but in the last position, i pulled out after i ejaculated and found the condom had broken pretty much in half

i asked her if she was healthy or had any stds or  hiv, she said no but her english wasnt very good so im not sure if she fully understood what i was asking
but she did get a little shy and told me she was pregnant although she was not showing yet

i immediately jumped in the shower and washed my self and also poured vodka on my penis afterwards (which ive read is not a good thing to do)

I've read that condom breaks havent been reported (on this site anyway) to have given an insertive partner a positive test

i fully intend to get tested at the appropriate times, but every time i read up online i get some closure but my paranoia eventually builds up again and i start getting really anxious, that's why i chose to start my own thread

I thoroughly checked the condom afterwards and found no blood or anything but i also could find any semen

im worried because ive read pregnant women presents a greater risk and also that pouring vodka is not helpful at all either

I was drunk and she also used baby oil as the lubricant which i wasn't aware at the time, was not the appropriate lubricant to use and now know was probably the cause for the breakage along with me being intoxicated

I'd just like to get some opinions that relate directly to my stort as i havent read anything about pregnant women and condom breaks or using vodka thinking it would help kill some kind of infection

Well, for starters you wasted the vodka. It does nothing, zero, zilch, nada except maybe burn your penis. Maybe not the good stuff.

That having been said, I have been answering questions and concerns here for about ten years, and have yet to see the insertive partner test positive after a condom break. It's low risk, and A) I wouldn't recommend PEP for it, also B) after two days, the window for optimum treatment has essentially closed. They SAY 72 hours is a window, but honestly after the first 24, it's a sharp dropoff in efficacy.

I would recommend testing, of course. If you are particularly worried, a test in six weeks is considered all but definitive. A test at three months is still considered the gold standard - and it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and get a complete STD panel done then as well, since syphilis shares the three month testing window with HIV.

The condom protected you until it broke, of course - and in the future, please use water based (or silicone based) lubricant, NOT baby oil, as it degrades latex. Or use  a polyurethane condom, if you prefer. With the polyurethane, you can use oil based lubes.

Honestly I have not heard that pregnant women are more infectious than non-pregnant women. Perhaps less likely to use condoms? Not sure what the science is, there.

I do have every confidence that you are going to be OK, but it's a goof idea to be tested at any rate.
