Watch Bill Maher Tonight
« on: July 24, 2009, 09:33:44 pm »

Anthony Woods is going to be on Bill Maher tonight.  He's running for a congressional seat that's opened up here in N. California (the special election is Sept. 1.)

It takes something for me to become a true believer, but this guy is the real mccoy.  Don't miss the show.

Wow!  How right you are.  Mr. Woods is amazing.

Hey Robert, I don't have HBO because I'm a tired, cheap Queen, but I googled around and found this if anyone is interested:

Is CA-10 your district?

thanks for the link.  I don't get HBO either but I do read Anthony's Facebook page and that's how I found out about the show.

No, I'm not in his district :'(.  I'm about 3 hours N but I am making phone calls from my home to people in his district.  He's running against the ususal suspects, 3 other politicans from Sacramento, running, as he puts it, for a promotion to reward them for the mess they put us into with our budget.

I think he has a good chance.

FYI - For any other cheap queens out there like me and Miss P...   ;D

I subscribe to the Bill Maher show via podcasts on iTunes.  You can get it for FREE - I don't get the video, but I do get the audio.  This particular episode is not yet available...it usually takes about a week after the episode airs for it to come available on iTunes.
Do not condemn the judgment of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Oh, I'm well aware of where to get things free, as in a torrent file.  Cheap doesn't mean stupid :)

missp

here is another Daily Kos reference.  Anthony was on their front page today.

By the way, you asked me if Anthony was in my District.  Unfortunately, no.  Here is a
MAP which shows where his district is. Anthony's district covers basically 2 counties between San Francisco and Sacramento.  A lot of military (active and retired) live there.  Up to 10 years ago it was very Republican and although I don't think there is such a thing as a California Blue Dog (Feinstein is the closest we got but she'll lie through her teeth to deny it) the district has somewhat of a conservative tinge.

But people are really fed up with Sacramento so I think Anthony's progressive stance

will ring a bell with a lot of the voters.
