Hello this is the first time this has happened to me.

I had sex with a guy of unknown status. He went iniside me without a condom. Stupid I know. He did not ejaculate inside he puled out before. 9 days after i feel very week and almost fainted. at day 11 all day I had a really bad soar throut and a massive headach. I feal nausia and threw up once. This morning day12 my throut is killing me and i have cough and pain in my chest when I cough, but still no fever. Do these sound like ARS? I know I have to test but please help!!!

I know I have to wait but please help with your thoughts. From what I read I now symptoms can not diagnose but does this sound like ars?

No, actually those don't sound like ARS to me. But then neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms is ever going to tell you anything accurately about your HIV status.

As you realize you had a risky incident. There's no getting around that. His not having ejaculated in you does make it less of a risk. But you still need to get tested. You can get a definitive result at 13 weeks. The average time to seroconversion is 22 days. All but the smallest number of those who will seroconvert will do so within 4-6 weeks after an exposure. So you can get tested at 6 weeks if you want to for a preliminary result. If you test negative at 6 weeks the likelihood is that you will continue to test negative. Since this was a single incident without ejaculation the odds are in your favor that you will test negative.

If your symptoms continue you should discuss them with your doctor as to a possible cause.

And you must learn from this experience. You can have sex with anyone you like regardless of their HIV status. But you must do it the safer way which means the insertive partner must always, without exception, be wearing a latex condom. They provide very effective protection.

Good luck with your test and stay productively busy during the waiting time. Doing that will help the time to pass more quickly than you may imagine is possible.

Cheers,
Andy Velez

Hello again it is 13 days since and I am still in bed. I still have soar throut, week and with sniffles and coffing. Also all day I have had nausia and diahria. My temp has not gone past 99.1. I am not sure if that is considered a low grade fever.

Do these sound like ARS symptoms? I think i asked that already but today i have newer symptoms and very scared. I have never had unprotected and the one time I do am so sick now thinking I got HIV. Please give me you thoughts if you can. I really appreciate it and will take the test. Now I am very scared.

thanks

kim

hi thanks. I read it again and yes I will get tested. It is hard to keep my mind on something else since I still feel all those things throat congested sick to my stamach and today day 14 I feel like my body has a bad sun burn it hurts to put clothes on. Amazing no fever.

I really think this is ARS. Just want to cry.
