Terrified guy from India pls help
« on: February 14, 2009, 01:15:06 am »
Hi,I had an encounter 7 mths back.I went to a massage parlour and received a handjob. She gave me a handjob with her bare hands ,i did not really check her hands for cuts or sores. Then she went to massage my penis with a body massager. While doing that the massager touched the tip of my penis several times.she also licked my nipples in the process.I am really terrified .I dont know much abt HIV and how it is transmitted.I went through your welcome thread ,which says that masturbation is not a risk. But my mind is not settled .I wonder ,what if the massager had semen residue from an earlier customer.is there a chance that it cudve gone thru the tip of my penis. The massage process was very rigorous. In India here the epidemic is very pronounced and thats what scares me.I did a Rapid test at 3 mth and 6 mth intervals ,they both were negative. Some sites here say that u have to do it at 9 mth and 12 mth also .trust me i dont have the stomach to do that.i just want to get over it and carry on life.I have abstained from intercourse with my wife for 7 mths ,but i cant do that any longer.what do u suggest ,shud i take another test. How reliable are the tests in india. It was some Combo Aids test.I dont know much abt it.All this may sound trivial to you guys ... But ur advice is of immense importance to me.TRUST ME ... based on ur word i will test or continue my life .PLEASE HELP.Andy,Ann,HIVWorker,RapidRod anyone .......

Also forgot to mention that i am getting symptoms after the 6mth test.I developed a mild rash on my neck and hands. And now my the lymph nodes under my chin are palpable. They are very small by can be felt .Dunno if they were always there or come up now. After reading on the sites that lymph nodes can be swollen i was searching for palpable nodes and now after the 6 mth i found out these nodes palpable. Is it related to HIV .. or am i getting too worked up.

You should have stopped at 3 months. No you don't have to test at 9 or 12 months regardless of what you have read on the internet. That's outdated information. Rapid tests are good at 3 months - your 6 month test confirms that.

Symptoms mean nothing - especially 6 months after an event - and you didn't even have a risk. Pick any other 6 month period of your life....you ever have cold/flu symptoms then? Probably. Whatever you have it isn't HIV.

So rather than worry about nothing, think of the following.

1) Nobody has ever got HIV in the manner you describe
2) Your 3 month test confirms the above. Your 6 month test was a waste...so don't test anymore.

You don't have HIV. End of story. No more questions.

NB. Any advice about HIV is given in addition to your own medical advice and not intended to replace it. You should never make clinical decisions based on what anyone says on the internet but rather check with your ID doctor first. Discussions from the internet are just that - Discussions. They may give you food for thought, but they should not direct you to do anything but fuel discussion.
