Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Protected sex 6 weeks ago but ALL ARS symptoms

Six weeks ago I had protected sex with an uncircumcised man. He never ejaculated because we stopped. Now, six weeks later, I am having all of the ars symptoms: tingling in the hands and feet, achy muscles, a small skin rash on the arm, sore throat, and a headache Now, I am starting to lose my appetite and get diarrhea but that may be stress induced. I am unsure of his HIV status. But, I was I am about to lose my mind!!! Can someone help me out with the possibility of me testing positive... I am so scared. My worse fear is that the condom slipped and I was exposed to precum.

I forgot to add that now my armpit lymph node is inflamed.

I was also diagnosed with HSV1 in February which puts me at higher risk according to information I've read

You never had an exposure, you had protected sex.

Thank you so much for your response. With all the symptoms there, it just makes u feel like there may have been a minute possibility.

Your "symptoms" are coincidental. They have nothing to do with HIV because nothing you are reporting has put you at risk for HIV.

If your symptoms persist you should discuss them with your doctor to find out the real cause. It's not HIV. And there is no need for HIV testing on your part.

Andy, have u ever heard of lumps under the skin on the arms being a sign of early HIV? It's in the same arm that the swollen lymph node is in. The arm is also a dark red color, warm, and causes chills when touched. Could this be because of a lymph back-up?

Protected sex is just that, protected. And if you are feeling your lymph nodes, stop it. That can cause them to swell and hurt.

Work with your physician to find out what's wrong. It can NOT, based on the facts you offered, be HIV.
