Gay porn = pariah
« on: August 06, 2013, 03:22:20 pm »
I'm following an online discussion about women and pornography. Someone described how women who participate in pornography are stigmatized and someone else added that gay men who participate in porn are equally stigmatized, that no one wants to date gay men who participate in porn. I admit I am out of touch with the gay community but I find that very difficult to believe. With so many gay guys posting naked pictures, having sex online and gay porn stars often treated like celebrities, I find it difficult to believe that all these guys are walking around with a scarlet A. Opinions?

I just watched an interview with Hank Azaria who is in the new movie Lovelace.  He mentioned that Linda Lovelace was quoted as saying every time you see her having sex on screen she felt like she was being raped.  The new movie addresses much of this and I'm looking forward to seeing it. It sounds very interesting.

As far as dating a gay male porn actor.  I personally wouldn't.  (disclaimer, Im not available to date anyone so there's that and I am a little old to be dating a porn actor, maybe when I was younger, but not sure.  Having sex with one? Maybe) .  Not to sound privileged or stuck up but it's one thing introducing your partner as "he's a lawyer, mail carrier, scientist, mechanic etc" and another as "my partner is a porn actor" I don't know if I could do that.
Don't be fancy, just get dancey

I dated 2 former porn actors many years ago.  In both cases I think it ruined their ability to be truly intimate with another person.  At least for these two it was difficult to relate sexually to a partner in a relationship after sex had been commoditized.  I actually felt really sorry for them both.

I couldnt date a porn actor. I dated a Stripper once and couldnt even handle that.

But I certainly would have no problem with meaningless sex with either.
