Advice please????? I just realized I missed a dose.

Hey,

I'm trying not to freak out that tonight when I went to the pill box, I realize I missed this morning's dose.
I'm on the latest drugs: prezista/norvir, intelence and isentress and kind of terrified that I've done something
really bad.

Please respond if you know anything.  I don't think I should double dose, do you?

If you are more than a few hours or so past your scheduled dose then just take your next dose as scheduled...Don't ever double up...Don't worry, we have all missed an occasional dose, do the best you can to remember in the future, that's all you can do.

Oh I have missed my fair share of doses.  Do not worry.  If it just a couple of hours after your usual time to take it , certainly you can take it and then get back on schedule.  Do not ever double dose!  If you can not take that morning dose because it is to close to your next dose, just relax and try not to forget it again.  It will not make a huge difference the one time.

Many of us forget many times.  In fact, around 3p this afternoon I realized I had forgotten my meds today also.  I've done this too many times to get worked up about it.  My tests results always come back normal.  Just take your meds tomorrow and you'll be in good shape.

The advise to not double dose is extremely right. could do far more harm then good. going back on your regular time if you missed a dose is prefectly ok.
When i first started i obcessed with taking it all on the exact same time and thought if i missed a dose I would suddenly become infected with everything imaginable.
Over the course of being on meds for more then two years with check ups every 3 months I learned I put more fear into it then I needed to.
I have missed several doses (at one time missed 4 days of doses) work and other problems somehow got in the way.
There was enough left in me from two years of doses that it had no effect on my health.
I don't advise missing doses but I do advise to not panic .
Its easy to say not panic but I can understand the panic because I have been though it as many in here have.
I think you will do fine you are not alone

I've been taking meds for over 12 years... I've only missed 2 doses... theres enogh drugs in your system for you to pick up your schedule... and proceed with your routine... don't fret... just try to pick up where you left off and on schedule...

I guess I miss a dose every two months or so.. never g ot detectable and T count is 630..

Don't worry but won't make a habit out of it either.

Once I got used to the routine of taking my meds, it bacame so automatic that I'd sometimes forget whether or not I had taken them; because of this, I think once or twice over the past 5 years I've missed a dose, and once or twice I doubled a dose!  In all cases, nothing terrible happend (that I'm aware of, at least).

What worked for me was to simply buy a weekly pill-box (99 cents); mine's a long plastic box with a separate compartment for each day of the week (there's a whole bunch to choose from at Walgreen's, CVS, and the llike)... All you need to do is stock it Sunday after you've taken your Sunday meds..... then on Monday, if you're not sure, look at your pill box.... if the pills are there, you didn't  take them yet; if they're not there, you did!
