Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Visited an adult massage parlour, now I am afraid and ashamed.

Last sunday I went to an adult massage/prostitute. She was young and stunningly beautiful and appeared perfectly healthy.
She did offer me full sex, but I opted for adult massage and hand job. She used baby oil and gave me a quick hand job, and then second time, she brought a latex glove and peneterated my anus by an inch or so while she was giving me hand job.
There was no french kiss, not even a covered blow job. Just a naked hand job and anus fingering with glove.

What I don't know is that whether she was positive or not. She is a sex worker after all.
What are the chances of some one in this situation to contract HIV here?

Also my country offers free HIV test which I can take as soon as Monday. But I have been reading that most test will take around 2 weeks to 25 days to become positive (god forbidden). So should I take the test now or wait for a few days?

You didn't have even the slightest risk for HIV , not even a little . These are the risk factors for HIV ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth
Very specific healthcare situations.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME for this incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Just so you know . You didn't have a risk and do not need testing over this incident . If you did have a risk the appropriate time to test is 6 weeks past exposure and again at 3 months to confirm the results .

I have sore throat. I can feel it if I even drink some thing. And I can see enlarged tonsils :(

Today is 15th day after the exposure. And It has been so for the last 3 days.

If you are unwell you need to see your doctor and find out whats wrong . Its not HIV .
