Her finely-touched spirit had still its fine issues, though they were not widely visible. Her full nature, like that river of which Cyrus broke the strength, spent itself in channels which had no great name on the earth. But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

People,

To coin an Australian phrase, I suspect we are up shitters ditch on this one.

The margin between us (Dead Mothers) and our only real opposition (Millionaire Cat) seems at this stage too great to equalise, let alone exceed. Naturally I'll hold off on final judgement until the close of polls, but I think we've been done by a superior campaign.

As an old political war-horse let me say, it's not a disgrace to fall honourably on the field of battle.

We've done well.

Keep voting!

102 votes down...one last bump.  They won't be announcing the winner for a few days, and people have been disqualified in the semifinals...so you just never know.

Vote one last time!

One way or another...like Matty said...it was a valiant effort.

Thank you.

ps.  I noticed this post has been read 898 times.  Does that mean we're only responsible for that many votes?  I thought it would have been more.

We're 92 votes behind at this stage and given the time left for polling and the restrictions (ie 1 vote per day), I don't like our chances.

Nevertheless, hope springs eternal!
