Las Vegas Gathering -- August 4 - 8, 2010

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS THREAD TO ASK QUESTIONS, MAKE SUGGESTIONS, OR COMMENTS--please start new threads for those purposes. The reason being, this thread could get so long that members with dial-up would never be able to open it.

Please note, this is NOT the official AMG. AMG will proudly take place in London, May 20 – 23, 2010.

Welcome everyone to our Las Vegas gathering! There will of course be many threads and many discussions as the events for Las Vegas begin to be planned. This post will be edited and updated as those plans become finalized and you all let us know what you want. This means members will not have to search multiple threads and posts to figure out what is going on. You will want to check this post often as the event draws near and more plans are finalized. If you are visiting this forum for the first time, we strongly encourage you to check out all the threads. There have been several previous gatherings, one in Toronto, Nashville, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, Mexico City, and Boston. Each and every person who attended will attest to how much fun, how enriching, and how truly wonderful they have been.

Room Rates

Wednesday, Thursday, & Sunday = $30 per night
Friday & Saturday = $42 per night

+ 12% room tax
+ $7.50 resort fee per night (includes unlimited admission to the Tower Viewing Decks, fitness center, 2 for 1 American Superstars Celebrity Tribute, and 2 for 1 “Bite” Adult oriented show).

All reservations must be guaranteed with credit card number. A first nights room and tax charge, per room, will be billed immediately to the credit card. Reservation must be made prior to July 6 to receive the group rate. To avoid a penalty of one night room and tax, the Stratosphere must receive notification of cancellation no less than 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date.

Additional information will include things like our now famous "MEET & GREET", organized nightly get together, options for daily outings that some may elect to do, possible presentations, etc. Everything, once you guys agree on it, will be posted here. Anyone who wants to be a part of making this happen, we encourage you to start a thread and get a discussion going. We intend to leave things pretty informal, allowing members to do as they please, but we will use this post to notify all of you as to what events you can consider.

Couldn't make it to London but had a blast at the Las Vegas gathering.  Lots of great info and great people--hope it's you do it again next year.

I remember somone turning up one day, he was a local, he talked his partner and a little dog he owned, I think maybe Nick knew him or about him, he was a very nice man and made me laugh ,I remember that now he had a good sense of humour.

I just got home a few minutes ago from a business trip to Seattle.  Connected through Las Vegas (for about 50 minutes.)  Took a look out the window of the plane and feasted my eyes on that Stratosphere tower where Jan, Will, Basquo, and Robert took their "leap of faith" a few months ago.  That sucker still is jaw dropping tall!

Possibly the local, and I can't remember his name(bad me).  Nick and I  spent a day with him and we got a tour of Las Vegas, saw his home (made me want to burn mine down) and had lunch.

I think he was at the bar before our memorial but didn't come around and disappeared before I could talk to him. H was interested in joining us for the memorial, and we could have used the transportation. I was sad that he couldn't be there for that and the dinner later.

Yes, he's a very nice man with a good sense of  humor and I hope he goes to the next gathering wherever it is.

By the way. Where are the pictures and did you all get to see mine.  I even got film of Will and Robert from top to bottom of the jump.

I had such a good time that I've been a bit bummed out being back where I'm the only out gay man and one living with HIV.  Oh Well.

I hope that I make it to another one.
