That's right, Nancy...Freddy is dead.

A Statement from Fred Thompson

Posted: Tue. 22 Jan 2008

Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people.

Well, there's one disaster averted.

The rest of them are like hurricanes. They'll get into office, cause havoc and leave the mess for some other poor dick to clean up at the middle class taxpayer’s expense. That’s been the norm, no sense changing that now.  I’d like to see a good independent run for office. But then we’d be stuck with a do nothing Congress and nothing would get done, but really that wouldn’t be a change with the one we have now.
Has everyone been keeping track of his or her 401k's? They're taking a hit with this stock market. I’m afraid to even look at mine. My PERS hasn’t been bothered.
Infuse the economy with tax breaks? Get real. The only ones that will benefit are the rich with more tax breaks.

We are NOT out of the woods yet. Huckabee is downright dangerous.

Bush is doing his infamous hocus-pocus motions with no real effect on the immense damage his administrations has left as a legacy. More of his band-aid crap--like when he made health reforms for the senior citizens. OMG, what a confused mess for elderly americans to contend with and in the end--they paid more for their meds and healthcare.

I miss democracy.

WTFI Fred?

My cat is named Fred and as far as I know, he's not been so stupid as to run for US President.

But, you never know, he's been know to do all-sorts for a taste of some catnip.

He loves him some catnip! ;D

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Yeah Ann, I cracked up when I saw that  presidential Hopeful announced he was pulling out of the race in basically a forum posting with a Fred Avatar!

Kind of makes me wonder how he would have handled his administration - maybe set up a chat forum where he could veto bills via smileys?
