long term hiv/hcv woman survior
« on: April 13, 2008, 01:00:36 am »
I am happily married.  I take Atripla for my HIV but I am not be treating for HCV because the side effects was unbearable.
If they don't already, I truly believe there should be a forum for HIV/HCV women.   I don't read enough on woman with the disease and I believe it just important in woman as in men.

Ubotts - I have been worried about you.  Have you left the sight for good.  My goal is to help others like me and just talk.

My prayers are with you all.

I think a thread on the topic would be ideal rather than a forum on its own.  With the forums we have so far i find it difficult to go round them but find it easier to follow a thread in a forum.  I am not disputing the idea as it is helpful for some who are in the same situation, its just my thought.

Hi Courage, welcome to our family. :)

I do not have hep C, but I think I understand your frustrations on the treatment.  I've known a few people who have stopped it because of the side effects. Ubotts is still around; she doesn't post too much however.  She will be starting the treatment in September.    I'm not sure if there would be much participation in a regular forum for women with HCV/HIV.  I think a thread would be a good idea.

I was diagnosed HIV+ in 1989, full blown Aids in 1994.  So, I've lived a long while with it myself.  Lots of ups and downs.  Currently I'm on Kaletra/Trizivir.  I'm just fortunate I escaped HCV I suppose.  I was an IV drug user for awhile back in the early 80's.

Anyway, I hope to hear more from you.  Please join us (if you haven't already, I haven't read it yet this morning) in the dating thread.  It's not all about dating; it's about our everyday lives, struggles, and support of each other.
  Luv,
Betty
