when should I get tested?
« on: March 16, 2008, 12:17:52 am »
The health class in high school scared me to death, and now I can't seem to put my mind at ease.

Anyways I am 20 years old and very inexperienced when it comes to sex.  I've had two sexual encounters, both with females, whose HIV status is unknown.  Its also interesting to note these women sleep around a lot, and it wouldn't surprise me if they were HIV positive.

Anyways on with the concerns:

On the first woman all I did was fingering and licked her vagina for about 1 min.  I noticed there was blood on my boxers when the lights were on (I cleaned what I thought was vaginal fluids on my boxers) I think I also touched my penis after rubbing the blood off on my boxers or before.  Either way I touched my penis.

The 2nd encounter involved unprotected oral sex from both parties and has happened a couple of weeks ago.  We also had protected vaginal and anal sex.  We used a different condom for each sex session.

Something that I noticed is that after a day after I would get what would seem pre-cum on my penis unexpectedly.  IT was hard to say whether or not it was because I was thinking of sex all the time (I really enjoyed my 2nd experience)  but either way the pre-cum like fluid has stopped within 3-5 days.  I am thinking that the worst it could be is an STD, which doesn't worry much.

The thing that does concern me is that while we were having crazy animal sex I'd finger her anus and I probably fingered her vagina with the same fingers (and vise-versa)..and then touched my penis.  Again, I can't recall the exact details but its somewhere along those lines.  We also did some genital grinding (unprotected) for awhile.

Am I at any risk?

Nothing you describe here is a risk for HIV transmission. Protected sex is just that, protected. The oral sex you refer to is similarly not a risk.

You do not need to be tested for HIV as a result of these encounters.

Please take the time to read our Welcome Thread and follow the links to our Lessons to learn more about how HIV is and is not transmitted.

Those are smart questions to be asking.

As long as you always without exception use a latex condom for both vaginal and anal intercourse you will be well protected against HIV transmission. By doing that the HIV status of your partner(s) becomes irrelevant in terms of risk to you.

when should I get tested?

I've read the intro and posted a topic here in the past in order to put my fears to rest.  However I want to get tested, because I simply do not trust the woman I have been sleeping with.  I wouldn't be surprised if she had HIV.

Anyways here's what we've been doing:

preformed oral on her (unprotected)
performed oral on me (unprotected)
We have protected vaginal sex (use latex condom)
I finger her vagina and anus
Had anal sex once (protected)

Now I've been having sex with his woman...for about a month or two now.  I will no longer be having sex with her.  The last time we had sex was 2 days ago.

Something that has been bothering me lately:

I had broken skin/wound on my finger but I fingered her anyways.  The wound looked fresh, even though it happened like 10 hours prior to sexual activity.

When I was going down on her I noticed a white discharge from hr vagina.  This might've been personal lubricant or perhaps something else?

Also she gives me oral unprotected....I suspect my chances of contacting HIV would be great.

Prior to intercourse there's rubbing involved (unprotected)..she has also put the head of my penis inside her vagina a couple of times.

When would be a reasonable time to get tested? also would you experts say I am just being paranoid?

You both should get tested ASAP just to calm your mind down.  White discharge as long as it's not clumpy is ok and as long as you're not having a green/white discharge coming out the head of your penis.  Be careful every time. i wish I did.  Anywayz always test the partner if you plan on putting yourself at risk.

Muh, none of the activities which you have reported put you at risk for HIV transmission, including the nicks or whatever on your fingers during fingering. As long as you always use condoms for vaginal or anal intercourse the HIV status, negative or positive of your partners is irrelevant. Condoms do the job.

As for any symptoms, that's something to discuss with your doctor. We do recommend that anyone who's sexually active ought regularly to have a full STD panel, at least once a year.

I don't see yours as in any way being an HIV situation.

MUH

I have merged your threads so please keep all you question in this one fro now on.

Nothing you describe here is a risk for HIV transmission, protected sex is just that, protected, and as far as the oral sex goes this is not a risk...you were told all this in your first post...please read the Welcome Thread and follow the lessons on how HIV is and is not transmitted.

You seem to be having sex with women you don't trust, so why are you are even thinking about it? and saying things like "it wouldn't surprise me if they had HIV" is very disrepectful.

Just
Please do not post in these forums, leave this to the experts here, MUH does not need to test over this situation...and telling him to test his partners before having sex is not good advise.

yeah well I think she's a hooker and gives it to me for free because she likes my company.  It was not intention to come off as disrespectful! Also I can't get sex from anybody else =(

Also what about the white discharge? the room was dark and it seemed to me as though the discharge was semen-like.  I am really hoping it was just lube she put on prior to intercourse.  I discovered this while I was giving her oral, so I'm very concerned.

Also what kind of rashes are the indications of potential HIV infection? I had one in my anal region for 2 weeks but I think this was just due to excessive sweat.

mu,

Whatever is going on with rashes around your anus has nothing to do with hiv. Why? Because you didn't have a risk for hiv infection.

Show your rash to your doctor. Whatever is going on has nothing to do with hiv.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

I did not find this anywhere on the site or on the internet, but I am wondering if what I read is true.

Is it true that HIV-infected vaginal fluid resides deep inside the vagina (cervix) and that the fluid on the lips of th vagina is not a carrier of the HIV virus?

The reason I ask is because I practiced unprotected rubbing the other day, and had the girl's fluids on my penis.  She inserted the penis on her vagina slightly before I stopped her and took out the condom.

Mu,

Yes, it's true that the infectious fluid where a woman is concerned is found deep inside.

Uprotected rubbing is also called frottage and frottage is not a risk for hiv infection.

Keep using those condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse and you won't have to worry about hiv infection.
