Oral Sex with a Pro
« on: October 25, 2006, 04:15:33 am »
Hi,
I had an encounter at one of a licensed brothels in Australia. Although i wore a
condom there was some amount of deep kissing involved and i had oral sex with her.
I didnt have an intercourse for long but then got a bj by her with the condom on.
I did notice that the girl had a few marks on her body. Wanted to know if i should
get myself tested as the condom was completely intact the only risk being me going
down her for sometime though. Just wanted to know how risky are these licensed
brothels too. I asked the girl and she told me that they get tested every month.
But still i am a bit curious to know if i should get myself tested. I had no symptoms
as such after the encounter which was like 3 months back. The only symptom after that
was of loss in apetite for somedays but then i would blame some personal problems
for that. Can anyone tell me whats my risk of getting HIV?

Velvet,

I don't know who you are or where you came from, but judging by that response, you are not in any position to be giving advice in this forum and you will not be permitted to do so.

If you have questions or concerns of your own, please start your own thread.

Thank you for your cooperation.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

helraze,

You need to know that people and places are not risky, but certain activities are - such as unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. Getting a blowjob, with or without a condom, is NOT a risk for hiv infection. Neither is kissing, no matter what sort of spin you can think of to put on either.

Going down on a woman is also not a risk for hiv infection. The fluids found in a woman that may be infectious are found deep within the vagina and you would not have reached these fluids. Also, saliva contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect. Add to that the fact that the specific cells hiv needs to bump into to infect are not found in any great quantity in the mouth and you have no risk. Going down on a woman is not a risk for hiv infection.

Along with reading through the Welcome Thread and following the lessons links found there, here's what else you need to know to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

You didn't have a risk at the brothel and you don't need to test over that specific incident.
