DAMN! Just checked my Peter Pan PB and it starts with  2111 on the product code. We have ate maybe 1/3 of it.

I should have chosen Jif.

Damn Teresa,   thats kindof like eating an apple and finding half of a worm.
Not to make light of it, but you may want to give your doc a call to see if you should maybe take an antibiotic as a precaution ( is there an antibiotic for Salmonella ? ) a sort of ' PEP for Salmonella '

More of a Skippy man here.... but i really prefer the all natural varieties with nothing but Peanuts ,salt and Peanut Oil....  and no Salmonella ofcourse.  Ya you might have to stir it now and again when the oil and peanut butter separates but would you rather have a bunch of artificial CRAP and Sugar in your peanutbutter ???

Actually the number is 21116217002016C  "Best by Feb of 08.

I've got about half of it finished so far. I am the only one that eats it. Ed doesn't touch Peanut Butter.

Also discovered I have three other jars  ( brand new with the numbers in question on them) I must have bought them a while back. By one get one one free.... So I bought two, and got two.

I've saved the lids. Will get an envelope and mail them all back, for a refund.

I have a brand new jar also...the code on it starts with "2111"

mine was Wal-Mart brand (which tells me that Wal-Mart brand is exactly the same as Peter Pan, just with a different label)

Alan,
Yes, you have one of the bad jars.  I cannot remember the Wal-Mart brand, but it the same PB as Peter Pan.  Don't eat any.

Nearly 300 people in 39 states have fallen ill since August, and federal health investigators said they strongly suspect Peter Pan peanut butter and certain batches of Wal-Mart's Great Value house brand -- both manufactured by ConAgra Foods Inc.

One of my coworkers is out of work due to the salmonella peanut butter. She went to the doctor today. She is an old army nurse and never misses work, so I know it's the real deal.
