Is it odd?

Question, just wondering.

I have been on treatment for about 2 weeks and have experienced no side effects to speak of, other then the slightest bit of nasea. Do side effects not usually come until later?

Hello,

I don't believe it is that odd not to experience side effects.It depends on each of us individually.
When I was started on treatment in October of 03, I was started on viramanune, Epivir and Zerit) I also had very little side effects at the time. I was expecting something dramatic to happen ( and took off a couple days of work in anticipation of that) but nothing happenned. I only started feeling better and getting my appetite back. Never had any problems with rashes ETC. Everything was pretty tolerable.

I guess it depends on the medication. For example I know that some  hypersensitive reactions can occur with Ziagen (Abacavir) and can take up to 6 weeks to show. And Viramune is started in half doses for two weeks to minimize side effects, and to make sure the body can tolerate it.

Current Meds ; Viramune / Epzicom Eliquis, Diltiazem. Pravastatin 80mg, Ezetimibe. UPDATED 2/18/24
 Tested positive in 1985,.. In October of 2003, My t-cell count was 16, Viral load was over 500,000, Percentage at that time was 5%. I started on  HAART on October 24th, 2003.

 UPDATED: As of April, 2nd 2024,Viral load Undetectable.
CD 4 @593 /  CD4 % @ 18 %

Lymphocytes,total-3305 (within range)

cd4/cd8 ratio -0.31

cd8 %-57

Thats cool you are not getting any side effects.  I'm on kaletra/truvada but my doctor did offer me to try reyataz/truvada but I turned it down because she says theres a chance of getting yellow eyes/skin (jaundice).
