Thanks Dragonette
« on: December 15, 2007, 03:24:18 pm »
Thanks Dragonette for asking about me. I did actually PM you but it must have been during the time that there were problems with the site and my message did not get to you. I have also sent PM messages to others and have not heard from them as well so I am assuming it was most likely during this time as well so I thought I would try it this way.

My health is not good at all and continues to decline. I have lost about 50 pounds since June. I have changed my PC doctor and he is seeing what he can do to help get me treatment assistance. He has told that if I cannot get treatment A.S.A.P. then comfort care is my only option. I am very Thankful that he is willing to help in whatever way he can.

I stay Very Tired and Weak  most all the time so that is why I do not post very often but I saw that you had ask about me and I wanted to let you know that I really appreciate it very much. Sorry you did not get my PM.

I wish Everyone well and ask that you keep me in your thoughts and Prayers in the days ahead.

Sincerely,
Mike

Hi tnboy,

Are you having health problem because you don't have an insurance ?
Combos cost 60$/month is some countries.
Its illegal, but not to save a life.

Good luck !

Mike it may be time to call in the calvary. Is emergency room care out of the question for you? I know you can't be refused care at an emergency room.

How far are you from Memphis? If you need physical help I'm more than willing to make the drive. Please PM me if I can be of help to you. I mean it.

Hopefully,
Hal

Hey Guys, I did not mean to post and run but I tire easily these days and I have been up a lot today and needed to lie down for a little while.

John to answer your question, I am on disability and have medicare insurance. I do have a part D plan for prescriptions but I simply cannot afford my co pays for HIV meds and the state of TN says I draw too much to qualify for assistance. Because I do have medicare coverage I cannot get assistance from any other drug assistance programs in my state. I hope that helps.

Matty Darling, I Love You also! :-*

Dragonette, Thanks for the PM, I will reply and hope it will get to you this time.

Dearest Hal, You offer is most kind and if need be I will certainly get you word. At this particular time my children and ex-wife are keeping close tabs on me and would get me to the ER if needed.

The new GP doctor I am seeing now is working on a plan and I feel very confident that he will come up with something helpful so I try to maintain hope. I do appreciate the concern you guys have shown and I will try to keep you posted as I learn more.

Thanks Again,
Mike

But Mikey, this co-payment problem won't be forever right? I mean at some point (hopefully soon) you'll qualify for assistance or be able to afford the co-pays surely?

The idea that you're going to die because of these wretched health care arrangements is just too ghastly for words.

Wow--- I will be keeping you in my prayers. I didn't know health care in TN was so bad. I wish there was something I could do to help. What meds are your doc going to put you on or has the meds been failing? Sorry, I just saw this thread and realize you are too tired to post regularly. Dragonette, maybe you can keep me posted? What about our Forum "Night Nurse" as I like to call her? Damn, this really sucks majorly!!!!! :'(

Isn't there some sort of ASO in Tennessee that can tap into some funding, even if it's outside normal channels, or is this just not done there?  It's always frustrating to repeatedly read of this situation in that state.  Atrocious.

I hope that something gets sorted out, Mike.
