Title: Am I infected???
Post by: klompa on June 23, 2011, 07:22:51 am
Good evening,

I am a 18 year old male from Greece.6 months ago I was very angry with a girl that broke up with me and I wanted to do something to outburst. So I went to a brothel...The biggest mistake I ever did...I engaged in protected oral, vaginal sex and a handjob.During the handjob I played with the hair between her vagina and belly. After I removed the condom and I got dressed, at my way home I put my finger in my mouth(rly stupid of me...).2 weeks after the incident I had diarrhoia that lasted for 3-4 days.At 3 weeks I tested negative with the CMIA method.4 weeks after the event, I had a red throat but no pain.I also had sputum. The doc prescribed me with antiobiotics for 12 days but they didn't do me any good...Now, 6 weeks after the incident I have a red throat with no pain and sputum...I am going really crazy, I think I am experiencing ARS...

Your so-called symptoms have nothing to do with HIV because nothing you did put you at risk for HIV. As long as you consistently use condoms for vaginal and intercourse you will be well protected against the sexual transmission of HIV.

HIV is a fragile virus and is not transmittable in the way you are worried about.

There's no need for testing nor for further concern on your part.

klompa,

No, ARS does not occur so late. Your post-nasal drip has NOTHING to do with hiv.

You did NOT have a risk for hiv infection. NO RISK.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER A HANDJOB, BLOWJOB, PROTECTED INTERCOURSE OR GETTING VAGINAL FLUIDS IN YOUR MOUTH , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

I am rly sorry for reposting but I can't help it...Today there are 7 weeks after I had that intercourse...And I have diarrhea again...But I'm on antibiotics again for the sputum and all that...Doctor gave me Avelox and it says that diarrheea might occur...But I remember the diarrhea I had 2 weeks after the event and I am realy scared...I am studying mechanical egineering in the university, it is exam period and I have rly screwed it up....I can't help the anxiety...That intercourse I had was the first and only I had in my life...And I was totally up to date with HIV prevention...I did nothing wrong...I wore a condom, I don't do drugs and I ejaculated in her hands, so I dont think the condom was broken...The symptoms are way too much...even if I have no fever...I can't wait for 5 more weeks to pass and have the conclusive test...

Klompa,

If you cannot believe us when we tell you that you had NO RISK for hiv infection, then go test and collect your negative result. If you were positive, you'd test positive by seven weeks. As you had no risk, you are going to test negative.

If you read the Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or NO RISK situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.
