Anyone taking both? Any side effects? What advice has any doctor given anyone about them? Can HIV Meds be taken with Ritalin?
-
Yes they can. There are no interactions between Ritalin (methylphenidate) and combo. - matt

My doc and I are doing a little experiment with these drugs to help combat fatigue. Provigil (not an ADHD med) has interactions - so I wouldn't even touch it. Ritalin made me feel like shit on speed with a nasty crash at the end. So I've been taking Adderall for about 2 months now, which has helped quite a bit. I have not been diagnosed with ADHD, but instead a sleep disorder. I haven't had any problems combining these with my HIV meds outside of feeling too speedy/yucky from the Ritalin. I don't recall reading about any interaction between HIV/ADHD meds. Although, the PI class always seems to carry interactions with something. Do some cheking on Drugs.com. That site is always a big help to me.

I take Kaletra/Truvada for my HIV and Strattera for my ADD. Is has been necessary to monitor my lipids, cholesterol, etc as with this kind of combination elavated level do occur. However, at this point my doctor and I both have discussed the possibility of adding a cholesterol lowering drug if it becomes too unacceptable. I've been on my regimen for just over a year so I'm holding off for now and managing it more with exercise and a balanced diet.
