Nearly 730 pills after

About one year ago I was going through the process of seroconverting. The worst three weeks a can remember. It will be one year soon since I started meds, my VL was > 75.000 my CD4 300-ish and 8%.
Now I'm undetectable (went to the doctor last Thursday) and my CD4 count is 976 (28%). Not as good as my boyf's (he's 1400 and something), but we have fun comparing and "competing" about this.

This doctor also tested me for CMV (POZ) and syphilis (neg.) and toxoplasmosis (neg.). I'll have to do the immunization for Hep A. as I'm not immune yet.

I was a bit concerned about CMV... but i know I'm just being silly right now.

I have two cats.... have to be a bit more careful about toxoplasmosis... but i live in an apartment, no garden, they never go out and contact other cats.... i think i can "safely" clean their litter  ::)

Main thing now: watch what I eat (Cholesterol at 241 and the doc said it has nothing to with the meds) and work out. I'll probably go back to the gym someday....


Next appointment will be in March.

Hi, just wanted to let you know, I tested pos for CMV retinitis six years ago VL >350,000 and CD4 59 and now everything is great! My doctor recommended a great Retina specialist who performed ganciclovir implant surgery. Now my health has never been better, my eye sight is excellent, and I have a busy, active lifestyle! I hope my story helps to alleviate your worries....good luck to you.

I tested + for CMV and Toxoplasmosis.  ;)

V.L.:80.200 copies. CD4: 25%=503
Started Sustiva-Truvada 14/August/2006
Last V.L.count (Oct 2013): Undetectable
Last CD4 count (OCT 2013): 52%= 933

Hey Tugaman,

It is good that your CD4's are in a higher range now and your VL is undetectable. Yes, I DO agree with you that you should change your eating diet as well as getting back to the gym to work out those muscles. Also, start a multi-vitamin if you haven't done so already.
