CD8s disfunctional bc millions of receptor switches turn off - breakthru

there is actually a big battle going on daily and the body and the CD8s and CD4s do a great job of getting rid of the virus and mopping up and making more copies of CD8s and CD4s, every day 24 hrs a day, and most everyone (in this phase the over say 400 CD4 phase) has very very few symptoms, this is during the first 5 to 11 years of the hiv disease.

think of it, during the period when the battle is going on and the cd4s are still above 400, the patient, us, we usually do not experience anything that even approaches the problems and symptoms of a cold or flu, occasionally there is a blip, but this shows

HOW WELL the human body does at coping with the hiv infection

HOW does the body do it.... CD8 killer cells do thier job

what causes this to stop working?

the CD8 cells become disfunctional because receptor switches (there are millions of them on each cell) on the outside of the CD8 cell -- and this was just learned about two weeks ago... -- thanks to another poster for pointing me to it -- this is new new information,

the CD8 cells become disfunctional after 7-11 years because millions of receptor switches (on the outside of the CD8 cell turn the cell OFF and stop its function.

and they found a vaccine that turns it back on!!!

at emory university that have success with primates now with vaccine that turns it back on..

very exciting stuff

they just found out two weeks ago that the issue is that the NUMBER or % OF THE MILLIONS OF SWITCHES on each cd8 cell, WHEN THERE ARE SO SO MANY TURNED OFF THEN THE CD8 doesnt do its job, like the cd8 cell works fine until like 70% or 90% they dont know yet % but they know it is dependent on % of the swithces on surface that are turned off

when 70% of the switches are off then the cd8 cell stops working-- it has been working great every day for 9 years eating up the hiv, the cd4s etc

suddenly quickly the body starts to loose the battle...

this is new new information just a few weeks old

then the cd4s start to drop below 200

the CD8s are stilll limping along and trying to do thier job, they can keep a person going for a few more months or years, every day the battle rages and more cd4s are gone, and more cd8s are disfunctional

they now have a vaccine to turn the cd8s back on

this is a big breakthru
