HI Prabu . Did you have a risk for HIV ? . If you did please tell us about it so we can properly answer your questions . The risk factors for HIV are ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth
Very specific healthcare situations.

Please only post in this one thread no matter how long between post . If you have trouble finding your thread you can visit your profile and select show own post and it will take you here .

I have provided the risk factors for HIV and asked if you had a risk . Please answer the question I asked so that I can assist you .

Drinking blood isn't a risk factor for HIV but it would sure help me help you if you simply say what's your risk was and tell me specifically why you are concerned about ingesting blood .

You only have one free post left so make the most of it . Please read the posting guidelines at the top of the Am I Infected forum for details .

If you are not engaging in unprotected vaginal or anal sex with your friend you will not be infected with HIV .

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth
Very specific healthcare situations.

You need not worry about acquiring HIV from eating or drinking , kissing or living with a HIV positive person . Seriously , enjoy the company of your friend and stop worrying about something that's not going to happen .

HIV is not transmitted from living or staying with someone who has HIV.

HIV is not transmitted through sharing glasses, eating utensils, air, pillows, saliva, sweat, or tears.

I am sorry that you have been suffering from such misperceptions about HIV and even sorrier that your friend has been exposed to this terrible stigma.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."
