  I tried to hate it, but it actually sounds pretty good for something thrown together in a week.  I could have done without  Lil Wayne singin solo...  Never been much of a Pink fan, but her style reminds me a lot of how Mary J Blige started out. 

   In any event, I like the cause...

Same here.  I don't find it groundbreaking, but it is just pop music with good intentions [I never really liked the original too much at any rate].  It could have done without the entire rap part at the end, but I suppose they just wanted to keep with the times --the fact that they included ghastly acts such as Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus shows their appeal to all demographics.

Some good performers in this one (particularly Jen Nettles from Sugarland and Jen Hudson).  Glad that Mary Mary get featured a few times.  I'm sure I missed a few good ones, but not everyone gets much time to make an impression (I saw Ann Wilson from Heart in the background).

Oh, and Janet's part couldn't have been any shorter.

I like it, but then Wyclef's voice does it for me everytime.. lol.

I liked the rap bit at the end - and I'm not even a big fan of rap.

I don't like this new version although I'm sure it'll do it's part in generating funds for the relief efforts in Haiti.

remastering a song is one thing; but like many remakes, this one just wasn't as good as the original. It's a shame that there are hardly any new ideas left anymore. The original expressed a timeless warm sentiment in time of tragedy and time of peace. This one will be old with out-dated lyrics before the year is up and the reconstruction of Haiti is underway.

I actually like this new version of "Everybody Hurts."  As a fan of R.E.M., I find it pretty faithful/respectful to the original version, and I like some of the musicians that participated in this one (i.e. Mika, James Morrison, Blunt, and Kylie :)) much more than those in the new "We Are World"... though I see Miley is part of this one too as well; can she just go away for a while?.

I'd much rather by this one instead.

I also prefer "Everybody Hurts" because I love R.E.M. and I think the song is more genuine. I don't mind the "We Are The World" remake-- at least these people are trying to do something to help. I liked they included a variety of different singers. It sounds like age has not detracted from Barbara Streisand's voice.

Oh, Ann....I actually thought it was a nice ode to Michael. Although, I would've never known Janet's vocals were added with Michael's if she hadn't been shown in the video! They sounded exactly the same to me!

I wasnt really moved by it..but i did like certain parts...i love how they kept MJ's part..& added Janet.  I thought wyclef's part kinda made the song.   It wouldnt have been special @ all (except for the cause) if it werent for Wyclef & MJ.  Celine Deon brought the house down at the end though!!  LilWayne wasnt needed period (Sorry wayne fans)

I agree. She is still fabulous, and doesn't look half bad for a woman in her mid 60s.

Video and song were ok.  I was surprised to see Barbra (sp?) in this.  I must be getting old 'cause there were a few people I totally didn't recognize...

I was very surprised that Babs showed up and participated in the song and video...considering how shy (diva) she is.  She sang with a lot of class and didn't try to out-sing anyone *cough* Celine and Jennifer...Sorry, I think these two women are great singers but for some unknown reason, these two always seem to want to prove that they can sing by hitting their high notes ~ loudly.  Annoying.  

Even though I don't like the song and everyone will find lots of things wrong with it ~ rapping, really?  As the saying goes, you can't please everyone all of the time....but, I'm all for the cause.
