Early Kaletra
« on: December 22, 2010, 03:34:49 am »
I'm currently taking Truvada & Kaletra. Truvada in morning and Kaletra twice a day. Recently there was a situation when I knew that I wouldn't be able to take the evening Kaletras on time so I took them 6 hours early (6 hrs early being the time I left the house and last chance I'd have to take them). My thinking on this was that it's better to have the drug in your system than taking the tablets late and not having any drug in your system.

I'm undetectable. I know that Kaletra can me taken once per day (ie double dose but all at once) but it isn't normally prescribed that way as it can cause more side effects and people with more resistant strains of HIV can become resistant when taking a single dose.

My question is would the increase risk of resistance also occur if you were only doing this occasionally? Say once or twice a month.
