Wanted to say hello.
« on: July 14, 2008, 10:49:32 pm »
I just wanted to say hello to everyone here.  It has been some time since I last posted and thought it high time I did.  I hope everyone is doing well and look forward to the day that I can post on here without trying to hide my status  :-\

To those that know me just a little update.  I've still got to take my state board to get my RN license and hope to do that by Sept.  I'm going to Alaska in two weeks for a little R and R  ;).  Hopefully once I pass I'll be able to save some cash to move out on my own again.  I know eventually the day will come when I need to start meds...I'm not looking forward to them, but it's going on six years now so I'm blessed to have been off them this long.  Sometimes I think it would actually be a good thing.  It would help put some of that nagging feeling in the back of my mind at ease, like I'm actually doing something to fight this rather than bidding time.  I've actually thought about talking to my doc about starting, but would like to finish my orientation at work...ICU orientation with antiviral diarrhea just doesn't sound to fun  :D :D

Anywho, I think about all the wonderful people here often and how this site helped me get my life back on track after my diagnosis, and for that I will always be grateful.  Without this site and the people that make it what it is I don't know if I would have pursued a career as a nurse or not...I may have gone down a much darker path, but we'll never know and I don't care either  ;).  Life is great, even though this "friend" doesn't know when he's worn out his welcome  ;).

Take care till next time.  (((hugs)))

Charlie, good to hear from you!  Good luck with completing your RN.  BTW, my brother lived in Alaska while getting his 2nd Master's, and said it's just beautiful.  Have fun!
