NLEWLAD,

You ask a really good question!

For many of us, myself included, the amount of sexual activity varies depending on life experiences of the time.  The early years, one must come into the complete acceptance and understanding how both important, and unimportant HIV is to our wellbeing.

First off, we spend a lot of time coming to accept our bug, and to simply place it in its' proper importance.  With those realizations, we slowly become comfortable with our bodies in the condition we have been given, and move on with our sex life.  There are so many factors, including the feeling of being contaminated, fear of passing it on, focus changes that make us think about our life journey and so many other things that slam us in the first couple of years.  This is perfectly normal and isn't any different for someone hearing they have cancer or any other life threatening disease.

Will it Pass?????????

Well, that I can assure you will come.  However, you are going to be the one that determines whether or not it will be sooner or later.  What we eat, the amount of drugs we use, including HIV meds, the amount of sleep we get, how much alcohol we drink, how much water we drink daily and so on and so on.  I don't know what the consensus is on this site, but most of those I know with HIV are well adapted and having pretty good sex lives.

Thanks for letting me share.

Same thing happened to me in the first year or so.

Well, it did for me!  ;)

Moffie has it right. It's still only been a year; give it time and I'm sure you'll be just fine.

You may have low testosterone and if you do, you may find that testosterone-replacement therapy, can work for you.  You also want to be careful, so your doctor understands that some of us, need much higher levels of testosterone to function properly.  I use Androgel patches and they work very well and are covered under most insurance plans.
