Tybost-Norvir
« on: March 01, 2015, 10:03:50 am »
Hi All ,
Has anyone switched out Tybold for Norvir ?
Just wondering because I think Norvir is the culprit for most of my lipo issues.
I've been on norvir since its old liquid, refrigerated self.
My lipid panels are great , but still have the fat deposits.
I see my Doc in the spring and will ask him about the switch.
Mean time just wondering if anyone else switched , know
from what I've read it hasn't been approved by the FDA that long.
Thanks Wade

I have not.

From my understanding Tybost has a better side effect profile than Norvir but its not hugely better.  If lipo is an issue wouldn't it be better to switch to a non-boosted regimen such as Truvada/Tivicay or Triumeq?  Does your resistance profile allow that?  If not, then switching to Tybost prob would be the better than Norvir (from what I've read).

Don't be fancy, just get dancey

I did have a resistance test many years ago, I'm sure it's long gone.
that was during the days of pill bouncing ,and constant changes. I  do remember
I can't take abacavir or viramune,
ER side affects from one , can't remember which. I, passed out and shit myself in Home Depot, and got hives all over my entire body.Rushed to the ER. Still have scars from the larger ones. Will ask my doc about the switch when I see him . Just wondered if anyone has made the switch .
Thanks

Well saw my ID doc ,and switched out the Nasty Norvir for Tybost
see if this helps with some of the Lipo fat issues. Will keep everyone posted.
Started it on Wednesday night.

A belated thanks Bugin !
I also read Truvada is going to be available in a new version,
Much less tenofovir and boosted with tybost. Would be less hash on your kidneys
I take Truvada also , with prezista so maybe one less pill eventually ?

Update on the tybost switch.
I've lost a few pounds , no life style change.
My neck is defiantly thinner , maybe working its way down .LOL
I think also some visceral fat in my trunk,
My Bp is the most noticeable change , about 20 points lower.
Top number always ran in 130s with meds ,
Now 102-106 with the same meds. Diastolic remains now in the 70s
That's it , that's all !
