need some confirmation

i am an 18 year old guy who had protected sex with a prostitute(my first time of having sex) for about 13min, then i removed d condom, 15 min later i picked up d condom again and kept it in my pocket so i could dipose off it, my hands and nails(i am a nail biter) obviously rubbing with d slippery condom when slipping it into my pocket... about a month later i got really sick, fever, fatigue, diarrheoa, and a little cough, i got admitted into d hospital for day, i got well(better) a week later, currently i started having dis diarrheoa , sometimes headache and now back and side pain(doc thinks its sleeping posture). I also got some very little white dots at d back of my throat, very close to my throat, no rash, no swollen lymph, i never vomited, i sometimes lose appetite,went for hiv test dec 13(about 78 days after d sex) negative, then again at dec 31(about 96 day after sex), but i dont trust d effectiveness of d second test, because lab technician used a very small hiv test kit(meant for only a person, then somehow reacted my blood with it), result came out in less than 6min negative and today i have stomach and backache, no headache, i am so scared, d question is 1) could i have contacted hiv through my fingernails or through sex itself 2) could it be that i just got a flu d time that i got admitted 3)could it be my anxiousness 4) is hiv easily contacted like dat...i have been sick on and off, any help would be appreciated. I am so scared

APH, you are worrying needlessly. You did exactly what you should do everytime you have vaginal or anal intercourse: you used a condom. They provide very effective protection against HIV transmission. The ONLY confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV is unprotected intercourse.

As to your other concerns about fingernail biting and such, you have no cause for concern. HIV is a fragile virus and absolutely is not transmitted in that manner. HIV if present, very, very quickly becomes not viable in the air. It is not transmitted from environmental surfaces such as furniture, clothing, doorknobs, food, barbershop nicks, hand to hand and other means which people sometimes worry about.

Whatever occured to you physically had/has nothing to do with HIV. If any symptoms persist you should discuss them with your doctor. And keep on using those condoms everytime for intercourse.

thank u and god bless u , u really helped, what type of test is d second test(try to explain)?, and what about its effectiveness? , moreover, is hiv test conclusive at 78 and 96 days? , what can u say about the white dots at d back of my tongue, very close to my throat, and my throat kind of aches a little, can bad sleeping posture cause back and stomach ache?....i am deeply sorry for d incovinience, l am just too anxious.

Any generation of the standard HIV test gives a reliable result at 13 weeks. But you don't need to test since you didn't have a risk. You can of course do so if you need to have the inevitable negative result just for your peace of mind. Getting a negative result is a certainty based on what you have reported.

Your so-called symptoms, none of which are even remotely HIV specific, are something you would need to discuss with your doctor. We cannot diagnose symptoms in this setting and again, nothing you are concerned about is in anyway suggestive of HIV.

Man, your head is working overtime and stuck in unfounded fears. This is absolutely NOT an HIV situation. Really.

hi andy, i already posted on the forum once before about been anxious of contacting hiv...i want to go and do a test on monday. can i rely on the test(hiv home kit test after about 3.5months)...because, i am stil showing some symptoms....i am going to be glad if u could help.

If you had an actual risk, an antibody test at three months or more is conclusive. However, you did not have a risk and you only need to test for peace of mind. I fully expect a negative result and so should you.

If you feel unwell, see a doctor. Whatever is going on has nothing to do with hiv as you did NOT have a risk.

The only approved home test is Home Access. Don't waste your money on any other brand.

You did not have a risk. If you keep posting about this no risk incident, you will be given that time out you've been warned about.
