blood in the spit: kaletra side effect ??
« on: July 06, 2012, 05:20:18 pm »
hi, it's 2-3 for days i've been noticing blood traces clearing my throat in the morning, then the rest of the day just almost invisible blood traces in the spit ... may this be related to kaletra ? started up kaletra and truvada 3 days ago. Has anyone else noticed  the same symptom taking kaletra ?
did a chest x ray today and a laryngoscopy and was all negative. i just have some pharyngitis...
planning to do a gonorrhea and chlamydia test as soon as i can...
what can it  be ?

  Hey  pathsofglory  ,
I have never taken  Kaletra  .

Have you been sick with a cold ?

You say you have  some pharyngitis  , maybe you are scrubbing your tongue  too much  ?   Maybe some gum issues ?

Please  let us know how you are doing .

the strange thing is that on the drug depliant is clearly written that kaletra may cause respiratory infections, ulcers etc, but my doctor said the bleeding is not due to kaletra... But te way the blood traces are tiny and the x ray was negative... So i'm not concerned...

Hey Paths,

I was on Kaletra for a year and a half... the only side effect was that it worked on me like liquid draino... I was running to the bathroom 10 to 20 times per day.

Other than that debilitating side effect, everything was fine...
