Lol sorry bit hyped just came in from a huge run *Training* noticed that they have a new injectable or something that prevents 100% against HIV for 3+ months.

First Triumeq, now this, and a new formulation for Stribild for better bone protection coming up.

Nope it's not for the positive community it's for their significant others and those looking to remain virus free.

If I remember the article correctly those in that kind of situation take this shot and for 3+ months there is literally no risk of acquiring the virus.

I can see things like this having a huge impact in reducing the numbers of newly infected individuals in target areas.

The subject line in this thread is bullshit.  I was expecting to be cured of teh AIDS due to its FUCKING BALLS FUCK EXCITEMENT.

Here it ends up being news that isn't even new and is pretty meh at that.

buginme lol well i know today in the news is that some researchers have found the genetic mutation that cured those two of aids in france i believe.

the problem with that kind of stuff is it seems that all these genetic big break throughs and finding how to bring hiv out of latency to totally kill it, etc never actually turn into anything.  i looked through all those type stories and they go back like 10+ years.  yet we're just still making progress with antiviral once a day regimes.

so real things like this excites me a whole lot.  makes it easier to get back into society and makes people in a realistic level less afraid and more knowledgeable about it vs hysteria.

This is news to me but I have been in a my own little shell for the past year. I hope it works as it would relieve me of a lot of the stress of having sex with my wife of 11 years.

Torchwood:  Yah that's my thought too.

We're pretty blessed to have most of the HIV+ community that is on regular and modern medication in the "Undetectable" zone.  Alongside that with PREP/PEP there is a lot of safety measures to help those people people in high risk groups stay negative.

I see this just being a really good addition to the whole package.  A shot you take every three months or whatever and along with the rest makes transmission 0%.  Seems like a great addition to the package and will help in situations like ours and others.
