My new Video Blog about living with HIV
« on: May 11, 2009, 04:30:15 am »
I am newly diagnosed as of 12/29/08 and have been living with it for about half a year almost.  I decided awhile back that instead of wallowing in my sorrow over the virus, i was going to channel my energy into creating this video blog documenting my living with the virus and trying to talk about the issues facing myself as well as trying to look at things in a positive aspect.  I want to talk about this virus with the world and show them what im going threw from parents to friends to work to life to whatever.  I think it would be awesome if you guys can check out this link to my first ever video blog and maybe make some comments and watch it.  Please Watch it.  Here is the link to my blog.

Jonathan -- welcome to our forums!  You're a brave young man, and your video will hopefully help others deal with HIV-related stigma.  Thank you!

Great job there, Johnathan, and thanks. Your openness about your status, your "mistake" and going on with your life is really great. I expect in the coming months you're going to have more good stuff to say as you continue on your journey.

The positive support you've received is in part a reflection of the strength with which you are handling this challenge in your life.

What's all the art in back of you in the video? What are you studying now?

Congrats again. Great to have you sharing this with us.

Cheers.

The blog rings 100% true, not a false note. It's inspiring and also, funny in the right places. Of course, that you're photogenic and adorable doesn't hurt. Keep it up......the blog, I mean ;)

Hi Johnathan,

Welcome to Aidsmeds~ I watched your video, and you seem to have a good attitude about this, which will help alot in dealing with HIV. It's good you have a lot of support as well.

I hope your video reaches thousands of young people, good for you for having what it takes to put it out there.

Be well,
Paul

Hi Jonathan, welcome to the forums. I think your blog is just great. :)

I merged your two threads - the one you started in Just Tested and the one in the Living forum, and left it here in Living. I deleted your other thread in Activism, as I did the first day you posted.

Please do not start new threads in different forums on the same subject. This is considered to be a form of spamming. Pick whichever forum you think the most appropriate for your subject matter and use just the one forum. Thank you very much for your cooperation, it's much appreciated.

Hugs,
Ann

I tested positive a couple of years ago and joined the web site just recently.  I don't talk much about my medical status with anyone other than my doctor and my wife of 36 years.  I just wanted to say hello to all and I find most of the posts helpful in some manner.  I have found that whether you are 18 or 54 the news can really shake your world.  I have spent the last 18 months trying to drink myself to death (not really) but it seems like it.  I am in relatively good health and have the support of my wife.  Our marriage is a little weird because the last 4 years of my life I have been transitioning to being a female.  I guess I am a little weird.
