A big turning point in my life. Please advice
« on: May 19, 2011, 10:42:15 am »
A week ago i did mutual masturbation with a guy .. im 25 year old male . While he was rubbing my penis with his hand my penis became sore ( it looked like a small red  cut as if it was done by a blade).I didnt feel any pain at that time but when i reached home and examined my penis i saw a red line below the head of my penis. It wasn't bleeding but i felt pain when i poured water on it. i am sure it happened while he was jerking me off so im sure it was fresh wound..Also after he ejaculated in my hand ,after a few seconds i used the same hand to rub myself and im not sure if his semen had dried off completely. i dont know if that guy is hiv positive.

after a week now, i feel that ive got a mild fever. it has been like that for past 3 or 4 days.. My exams are approaching and i am not able to concentrate on anything. I had heard that HIV test can be done only after 6 months after an intercourse.. i dont know what im gonna do for these 6 months

i need your advise.. please help. do i need a test

Boy, have you got things mixed up and you are worrying totally needlessly. You did not have a risk for HIV.

No matter what details you throw into the mix, masturbation including with sperm and/or precum from the other guy, is absolutely not a risk for HIV transmission. HIV is a fragile virus and is not transmitted in that manner.

In fact the only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. If you consistently use condoms for those activities you will be welll protected against HIV.

And IF you had a real risk, which I hasten to repeat you did not, then testing negative at 3 months would give you a reliable result. That 6 months thing is long outdated.

Again, you are worrying needlessly. If your symptoms persist you should discuss them with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV.

You're welcome. Get on with your life. Happily HIV is not your problem.

A big turning point in my life. Please advice

I am a 26 year old male from India. Last week i had unprotected sexual intercourse (oral and vaginal) with a call girl of whom i am not sure is HIV +ve or not. I know i did a very stupid thing , but it was my first sexual experience in my life with a women  and i was not getting an erection using condom , so we ended up doing without any protection. I could not control myself I did not ejaculated inside her, but she had orgasm 2 times during the act. This is the one and only sexual intercourse in my life till now.

Now that everything is over i am so freaked out about my future.

I read in an article that in India HIV is more easily spread among heterosexuals compared to USA because the virus here is of another type? If that is the case I think I haven't got any hope.

I thought about this for the past few days and have taken some decisions. I don't wish to spoil my parents good name because of me, and the problem is they are trying to find a girl for me to marry. I don't want to spoil her life too so i am going to tell them that i prefer to be single for the rest of my life. I can't tell them about HIV because that will shatter them and spoil my family reputation. For the same reason i am not committing suicide.

What i would like to know is how long will it take the HIV virus to seriously affect me? How long will i live? Is it possible to live 20-25 years without letting anyone know that i am infected? Will I be able to lead a healthy ,normal life?

Hi Manu , You had unprotected intercourse and you are going to have to test 6 weeks past the time of the incident and again at 3 months to confirm the results .

Why are you assuming that its a forgone conclusion that you now have HIV ? You are going to have to do the responsible thing and get tested , chances are in your favor that you didn't get HIV so put all of your plans for a celibate life on hold until you know the facts .

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but HIV is forever.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care checkup, including but not limited to HIV testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine checkups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine HIV tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than HIV. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid HIV infection. It really is that simple!
