OK, I made hamburgers last weekend and put sliced beets on top, along with onion, green chile and cheese.

They were delisih!  ;D ;D ;D

Now I'm going to get hungry again.

HUGS,

Oi vey!  You've never eaten gefiltefish soup.

My mother, loving Madre de Dio, God rest her soul, used to slice hot dogs and add them, a can of tomato paste or sauce, and white rice and heated in the oven for some time.  She was never struck instantly dead by pronouncing it jambalaya even though later days showed me real jambalaya.

I made a killer sour cream apple pie this weekend. I even got bold and made the crust from scratch too. It went over well at the cookout it was destined for, and I have enough leftovers to make a second one later this week... I'm supposed to try to regain the weight I lost when I was sick a few weeks back. The doc wants to see those 12 pounds back in time for my surgery, so I've learned to love epicurious.com. A bazillion recipes at your fingertips.

Here's a great site for Quiche ... http://www.thatsmyhome.com/bakers/quiche-recipes.htm  The site has some interesting quiche ideas.

Plus Quiche, with a nice green salad makes an eggcellent (sorry couldn't resist) dinner !!
