Hey all!

Betty-LOL! I had to laugh when you talked about your cat having a mental illness. Sometimes  I think my dog has emotional issues and needs therapy. She definitely has separation anxiety and thinks she is the boss of everyone.  ;D I'm glad your test went well.

Mum- What is DHHR? What are you applying for? That totally sucks about your messed up day. I am surprised that Mini still wants to go the party considering how she feels. I hope she gets better soon. I'm sure it is frustrating to know your child does not feel well and not being able to do anything about it.

Camms- I'm glad you had a good time. I LOVE olives!!! I also like salt. I have low blood pressure so the doctors have always told me to eat more salt. My favorite olives are the green ones. You can get them stuffed with all kinds of things. A parent who volunteers at my school always brings me olives. Last week she gave me jalapeno stuffed green olives...YUMMY!

Snow- Hey there! My sister did have a party. I have no idea what happened since I purposely stayed out of it. I do know that the next day she went to turn cans into the recycling center which means there was a lot of beer and she didn't want our dad to know. Also...are you talking about a flash drive? They are like disks. You save all kinds of things on them.

Well I am so glad that tomorrow is Friday. I have had the worst pain in my back that I can only attribute to stress. Tonight I made some rice krispie treats for the kids tomorrow and the electricity went out >:( The Edison people were out working on it and it came on about 2 hours later. It's amazing what you can't do without electricity. I ended up finishing my stuff and am ready for bed. Have a good night!

Snow and Andrea, DHHR is Department of Health and Human Resources.  When I went to Health Access (the doctor facility and pharmacy for people who don't have insurance or qualify for benefits.  They charge on a sliding pay scale.), they told me I had to have a letter of rejection from DHHR saying I didn't qualify for medicaid or medicare.  I applied last July and got rejected, but the letter had to be less than 90 days old.  So, I had to make an appointment and re-apply so I could be re-rejected.

I brought in all the paper work (neatly placed in a 3-ring binder by Hubby).  Since nothing has changed, she was adament that I shouldn't be accepted.  And, she said that if I was accepted then found out that I shouldn't have been, I would have to pay back all the expenses.  So, she finally hit the right button and got me re-rejected.

Betty, I had a cat with a mental illness.  His name was Nigel D'Vincci.  He would attack and bite feet, jump and scratch people's heads.  He'd snuggle up in my lap, purr, lick my hand, then look me right in the eye and take a chunk out of my arm, leg, or stomach.  He was a stray and I felt too sorry for him to get rid of him.

Pat yourselves on the back, ladies, we made it to Friday!  Just a few more hours and we'll be officially into the weekend.  Make it a good one.

Happy Valentine's Day to you all.

Mum  thanks for clearing that up for me too.  I was a little confused.  Glad that it resulted in a rejected resolution.  For Christmas, we do a lottery.  My mom picked me.  She bought some really great things for my apartment....new towels, a throw for my couch, a house mat, and a new vacuum.  My mom over did it, but I appreciate it.

Viv- My favorite olives are the Kalamatas ( the dark purple meaty kind).  The funny thing is I hated olives my whole life until I reached 25.  My roommate was always buying olives and insisted that I try them....and it was a olive love affair ever since.  Hope your back is feeling better today.

Snow-  do you mean flash sticks.  Yes you can save pictures on them.  They're a great tool for your pc.

Winn-  I had a couple of cats in the last few years and most of them were typical cats.  But I had a roommate who had a big fat white cat.  This cat was seriously crazy.  She would sit in the corner and meow and meow.  She was always chasing "ghosties" which we called them.

Today is Friday at last.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Hugs,

Camms

Morning ladies,

Mum, sorry about your day, but I'm glad the lady finally figured out how to re-reject your application.  So, this means you get medical care now and meds without the huge expense?  I wouldn't tell the people who are having the party Saturday about Mini have HIV.  It's none of their business.

Wendy, yes, I believe my cat has something mentally wrong with her; seriously, I do.  She gets frightened extremely easy.  She's scared by the sound grocery bags make; she's scared when someone comes in (she hightales it under the bed); she's scared when I get pill bottles out (the noise they make);  the t.v. scares her, no matter what's on it-I think she believes the people are really in the room and they're going to get her.  When I adopted her, she had been at the shelter for two years.  They don't have the cats separated by cages-they're all in one huge room together.  And they can hear the dogs barking.  So, maybe she's got post-traumatic stress.

Snow, I haven't tried the green tea pills; I'm not a taker of supplements.

Camms, I'm glad you had a good time with your family.  My family used to be really close.  Then, after my dad's death, my brother had it out with my two sisters, and now he won't speak to them.  He didn't even accept their Christmas presents (which I had to attempt to give him).  He says he divorced them.  Death brings out the best and worst in people.  I was going to ask you, how much CoQ10 did you take and what was the strength?

Andrea, I hope you back feels better.  Hardly anything hurts worse than a back ache.  I, by the way, hate green olives.  My dad used to love them though.  I like the black ones.  I hope your party goes well today.

Today I see the dietician.  I have some questions for her and I hope she can figure out a good diet for me.  It's got to taste good also; if it's bland, I'm not going for it.  I also do not like that vinagerette dressing for salads.  My favorite dressing is bleu cheese.  I suppose I can order it on the side.  I hope I don't have too high of an expectation on the appointment.

A guy from the Y called me yesterday and now my appointment is for Monday.  Hopefully this one won't get cancelled.  I've got to lose some weight; it's not for appearance sake, it's for health sake.  With my diabetes, it's not healthy.  One of the medications I'm on, Zyprexa, makes me crave sugar, mostly at night.  And, I haven't been eating other "healthy" things lately, it's been M&M's.  BTW, I'm on the Zyprexa to help "stabilize my mood," (I don't know what's wrong with it).  Years ago, I was diagnosed as bipolar.  My therapist, who's been seeing me since 1991 says he isn't convinced that I am.  He and I think that all that medication that crazy psychiatrist had me on made me experience mania.  But, anyway, the Zyprexa does help keep the panic attacks at bay, so it's good for something.  I'm just going to have to figure out what to eat when those sugar cravings hit.

Other than that, I'll be doing schoolwork.  I hope you ladies have a good day.

Mum- I glad it worked out in your favor, that must have been very frustrating.

Thanks, Viv and Camm, yup that is what I was thinking, they are little things that fit in the palm of your hand.  Good to know I can save pics on them, thank you.

Camms- I didn't like olives until I was older either. My 10 yr old loves them, he will eat a whole can of black olives for a snack.

Viv-Hope you have a fun party with the kids. Are you on vacation next week?

BT- I don't like bland food either, sometimes I feel like yummy food is the only thing I have to look forward to. That would be good if you get your diet figured out and start working out.  I have started using Splenda in my tea and it tastes fine. In the dollar stores out here, they sell sugar less hard candies with splenda that are pretty tasty, maybe you could try something like that when you have cravings.

I can't believe another plane crashed, that is so sad.  They are showing the house on CNN now before it got hit by the plane.  My heart goes out to the people on the plane and in the house and thier friends and family.

Betty, yes.  According to the lady I spoke to at Health Access, I can see thier doctors and use their pharmacy.  If they don't have a specialist in their office that I need, then they will refer me to an outside doctor.  But, I won't have to pay any more than I would if I saw their doctors.  I won't know what that is until I bring them in my rejection letter and the application.  She said the most anyone pays for a doctor is $20 and for meds $5.  Sure beats what I'm paying now!  On the application, I have to list my medications that I'm on and any meds that I think I MAY have to be on in the future.  That way, if they don't have the meds in stock, they'll order them for me.  The pharmacy is only opened on Tues and Thurs., but for most meds, they can give a 60 day supply.  I don't need anything major - just my inhalers and my ostomy stuff.

Camms, what great gifts from you mom!  We used to do a lottery system with my mom's side of the family.  Single people drew single people names and couples drew couple names and usually got something for their house.  Everyone decided on a $50 limit.  We stopped a couple of years back and I'm not sure why.  We still give small gifts to my little cousins, my grandmother, and of course my parents and brother.  Hubby's family does nothing.  It's sad, but it is honestly for the best.

I think Cindy and Drag are holed up with their hotties.  I hope where ever they are they are having a great time and loads of &%^$#!  ;D

Betty, maybe Poppy has Asperger's..lol..he sounds exactly like my #4 (middle daughter).  She's scared of everything but air (unless it's blowing).  If someone passes her up and looks her way she freaks out.

Snow, I keep asking Mim if she wants to go to the party tomorrow and she says she does.  She doesn't get invited to many parties outside of her little cousins'.  This is actually for the little sister of our oldest son's friend.  We've had them over and they are the BEST behaved kids I've ever seen in my LIFE!  My girls will be the only ones there and I hate for them to miss.  We'll see how she's doing tomorrow afternoon.

Well, my honies, soon I'll be off on a date with my Hubby.  Not sure what we'll do or where we'll go but we'll end up calling my mom 100 times and talking about the kids all night.  Even when they're not there - they still are.

Have a good one!

Hello ladies.  Hope everyone is well.                                                Mum, glad that  worked out the way you wanted it to. I hope your date tonight is wonderful. Is this the makeup date for your birthday ? I wouldn't tell about Mini having HIV. There is no possible way she could pass it to any of the children. However, if she is anything like Robert- he tells all, make sure you tell her not to tell it. Hope you all have a great time and I hope  Mini feels better soon.                                                Betty, glad your arteries are not clogged and your stress test went well. Maybe you could eat dried fruit when you have a sugar craving, most of it is very sweet. I love dried cherries. Not sure what is wrong with your cat. Most of my cats have been skittish to a point but not that bad.                                                                                             Andrea, sorry  your back hurts, hope it gets better. Rice crispy treats sound really good, I bet your students love them.                          Snowangel, glad to hear from you. I know what you mean about sometimes yummy food is the only thing to look to. forward I hope your daughter feels better soon .                                                Camms , sounds like both of your dinners went well.Wow a new vacuum, your mom gives great gifts. I have never had a martini but it sounds good. Don't they make flavored ones now?                              Anyway, not much happening here. I haven't heard back from my ex-bossman so I am assuming they don't want me back but they might call any day. That is kinda a relief cause both his wife and his daughter are class A bitches.   Waiting for Robert to come home. I sent his Valentine cards today and we got his teachers and bus driver each a giant Hershey's Kiss. Hope fully he won't eat any of the candy while he's on the bus. He is usually very good about that so I am not too concerned.   Monday I will begin looking for jobs in earnest. Maybe something other than food service as a good friend suggested to me, it would be physically easier. Hope everyone has a great day and Happy Friday The 13th.    Cristy

Hi everyone. Long time since I had time to check in. Lucas is getting up sooner which means I can't be on the computer at 2am anymore. Lucas also had RSV in December and the next thing you know we were all sick. Finally we're all healthy again. I hope everyone is doing alright. I only had time to Skim the entries so forgive me for not addressing everyone.
Betty - I saw something about heart tests. I hope you're alright.
Mini - Why were you rejected? When we got Lucas he initially got gateway/access for financial reasons because they couldn't look at our income till the adoption was final. Once the adoption was final he was rejected for financial reasons but accepted for medical need/disability. Now he is on our insurance for primary but gateway for secondary. This means that for most things our insurance pays then gateway picks up what is left.

My step mom had a cat like that Betty. I think I saw the thing maybe 5 times in 15 years and some of those times it was a blurr of fur making a mad dash to hide.

Hey Ladies----

I am reporting in though nothing major has been going on really. I went to see my ID doc, bad news, my cd4 dropped, majorly and my viral load jumped up to 18,000. I don't regret doing it but my doctor is a bit pissy with me. He says I can start back whenever I feel like it just let him know, it was the fastest visit I ever had with him. The other day, one his nurses called me then I got transferred to Leah, who I think has gotten a promotion because I don't see her anymore. Anyhoo, I asked her what the rest of my results were since my ID doc was being pissy, he didn't bother telling me. And since I gave up 6 vials of blood and a cup of urine, I thought I had the right to know. Everything came back fine except my sugar is a little high. I am waiting to get in with the new PCP who just returned to work last week after having surgery.

My son had called me last week too. He got lucky once again and they have transfered him to a boot camp somewhere in Indiana, Pa. I could tell by his voice that he was happy. I sent him some money last check day and wrote him a letter over the internet to the prison where he was at. He should be out a little over a year. I wonder if he realizes just how lucky he has been through all this.

FINALLY!!!!!!, the car is getting fixed tomorrow. My bff is paying someone to come do it, thank the freaking Goddess. Things are still going good with Rey. I took my hair down today so I have to start braiding tomorrow. I pulled a muscle in my stomach and it hurts like hell. Speaking of hell, anyone going to see Friday, the 13th. If so, please drop a review because I want to know if it is worth it. I downloaded Saw 5 and have to say I was disappointed. I mean the killing seemed a little mellower to me if that makes sense. And with Jigsaw gone it seems to have lost it's edge to me. Hoping part 6 will be better.

And on a lighter note, I think I have turned into a MySpace whore..... :D I swear I am hooked. I change my profile almost every other week, music almost daily. And did I mention I am a horrible flirt? I have also noticed that I have more male friends than female friends. All the female friends are from here.. ;) Who barely hit me up I might add... :D

Other than that just another day. Those with hubbies or bfs...Have a Happy Valentine's Day. Have a good weekend everyone.....

Mum- Thank you for the explanation. I am really clueless when it comes to that stuff. I hope you were able to enjoy yourself tonight without worry too much about the kids.

Cam- That was nice of your mom. I suggested once that we should draw names in our family but no one abided by it.  :(

Betty- I would love to go see a dietician. Not only would I like someone to tell me what to eat, but it would be nice if someone could cook it for me ;D Ahhhh a girl can dream....

Snow- I don't have vacation next week but I have Monday off. YAY! I'll take it!

Cristy- Any luck with the other jobs?

#1 Mom- Hey!  :)

Wendy- How have you been? Feeling better?

Queen- That must feel good to get your car back.

Today went well. It rained, but not during the kids recess times...thank god. It is the worst when they have to be cooped up. My back is still messed up. It is one area and I am pretty sure it is stress. Isn't it interesting how you may feel like everything is fine but you body tells a different story? I don't have much planned this weekend. It supposed to rain most of the time which is good because we need it. We might be going into another drought so this rain is welcomed.

Nothing else to report. I hope all of you have a nice Valentine's Day-what a total Hallmark holiday! Have a good night!

Yes, I know it's early.  I had to get up and do a breathing treatment and take some Benedryl.  My allergies are killing me and I couldn't breathe.  Our "date" went well.  We went out to eat (and talked about the kids), then we went to the mall and walked around (and talked about the kids), then we had icecream (and talked about the kids).  We left the house about 3:45 and by 8:45 we were back home.  I was in bed, sound asleep, by 10.  Dinner was wonderful, but neither one of us is used to eating rich foods.  We were popping TUMS before we left the parking lot.  Our oldest went home with my mom to spend the night.

My dad called mom last night to let her know that he'll be stopping by tomorrow (today) on his way from Erie, PA to Louisiana.  He's a hellicopter pilot and will actually be flying the ship and landing it in their front yard!  He has to be in La. by Monday night, so he'll have to leave sometime early Monday morning.  I'm just glad that they'll be able to be together for Valentine's Day.  And I'm hoping to sweet talk him into a chopper ride Sunday.

Mom: Mini is covered, via her adoption agreement, by medicaid (medicare?).  Even though we had private insurance at the time, we weren't required to cover her.  On our private insurance, she would only have a $1million lifetime coverage which she exceeded at 19mths old.  The rejection was for me so that I can see a doctor through Health Access.  Mini has had a rough winter, also, with 3 ear infections, pneumonia, strep, and a sinus infection all in a 6wk period.  She's being tested for vertigo on Tuesday.

Christy, that's what I was afraid of - Mim saying something to them like, "I can't have that, I'm a diabetic and I have HIV, too."  I'm sure that would get us a phone call REAL fast to come and get them.  I just keep praying that everything goes off without a hitch.

Queen: good to hear your car is getting fixed.  I think I missed something, did you go off of your meds and that's why your numbers went south?  How long were you off?  I got a bunch of invitations to join people's "my space" pages, but it never would accept my email and password.  Oh, well.

Well, I think I'm going to read until the Benedryl kicks in and I can go back to bed and get some sleep.

Happy Saturday!

Morning ladies,

Snow, Splenda is the only aritifical sweetener I use and have used for quite awhile.  It tastes so much better than the other ones.  It's good to see you, by the way.

Mum, Health Access sounds like a good deal.  And I'm glad the date went well.  Where did you eat?

Cristy, good luck with the job search.  You know, when I was a kid, I remember getting one of those giant Hershey Kisses from my brother's then-girlfriend.  I was in heaven.

#1 mom:  Good to see you.  I really don't know the details about RSV, but I know it has something to do with the lungs.  I hope Lucas stays well.

Wendy, my cat is skiddish, but I do love her.  When I say something to her, she usually meows back.  When I wake up in the morning, she jumps up on the bed and comes up to my face to greet me; when I come home, she's always right there to meet me.  She's extremely needy, but that's alright, I like spoiling her.

Queen, hopefully your numbers will come back up quickly.  That's great news about your son.  And yeah, I hope he does alright when he gets out.  I really don't know anything about the new Friday the 13th movie, sorry.  If you want to go see it, go.  We all need to do things for ourselves sometimes.

Andrea, I'd love someone to cook for me also.  During the week, it's usually a t.v. dinner (Lean Cuisine) and a yogurt for supper.  And I really don't like cooking much on the weekend, because it's just me.  I usually freeze what I don't eat, then end up throwing it out some time in the future.

I'm up early because I'm going to one of my friend's son's graduation from culinary school.  I have to leave in about an hour and 15 minutes, and I haven't eaten breakfast yet.  I'm just finishing my 2nd cup of coffee.

We got snow last night, I found out when I was getting my paper.  I knew we weren't over winter yet (but I was hoping).  It's not terribly cold, it's 28F; we've been tons colder.  I hope we don't get much more snow though.  I really need to move somewhere where they don't have snow.

Anyway, other than going to the graduation, I don't have anything else planned for today.  I hope you ladies have a good day.

Hey Ladies Happy Valentines Day!

Queen -  Sorry to hear about your numbers...that tanking feeling is awful.  I know you mentioned you wanted to wait a little longer before resuming your meds.   I came really close to renting Saw V.  I'm a huge fan of horror films and foreign films...go figure.

Christy-  good luck with the job search Monday.  How are you with basic computer skills?  Maybe an office job through a temp agency if your looking to move away from food service.

Mum-  Hope the party turns out great and mini has a great time :)   Oh, you really should talk about the kids when you and you're hubby have the time....that's what dates are for...to catch up on the kids...lol  ;)

BT-  Hope the graduation includes the culinary cues and samples.  Are you going out to lunch afterwards.....or whatever people do post graduation?  The CoQ10 is vitamin shop 300 mg 3 times a day, soft gel.

Andrea-  a personal chef would be fabulous and it's nice to dream big.

Last night I saw Coraline.  It was visually amazing and creative.   It was a little slow on the narrative, but it was really impressive on the big screen because of the animated detail.  I saw the movie for free, because I did a search on the net for fandango coupons.  I had to apply for a free credit report, which I had to cancel today so I don't get charged after a week.  I needed a credit report anyway and was relieved that after 4 years it went from poor to good/excellent.  My ex crushed my credit.
Anyway....i printed out the free ticket and went to the mall (AMC) theater.  Anytime I go anywhere, I can find a discount on the internet.  I should write a book, though I'm sure its been done.

I'm thinking today is going to be a great day.  I wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day.  I think Valentines day is a hallmark holiday too but should be a day for all kinds of love.  Growing up my mom always bought us kids something for valentines day.   Pets included!

Hugs to you all,

Camms

Morning Ladies----

Mum---Your Dad was in my town. Sounds like you had a good night with the dinner and all. Wow, it sounds like you have horrible allergies. I just got them a few years ago but mine usually trigger during the summer.

Betty---Girl, movies are expensive here and I don't want to go if it is crappy. I usually wait for movies to go to dvd or if I can't wait that long then I usually download them myself. I'll prolly see if I can find it online in about a few days since it just started last night. Yeah, well hopefully the numbers will rise. I was bummed for a minute but it was the reality check I needed. So, ya know...2 tears in a bucket.....

Good evenings my sweeties!

Camm, LOL...I know, everytime we go out we talk about the kids.  We saw the commercials for Coraline but decided against taking the kids to see it.  Our oldest has OCD and, seriously, after watching Disney's Beauty and the Beast, he didn't sleep for a week and would start to cry at supper because he knew it was almost bedtime.  He even walked out of Prince Caspian - at the age of 11. :-\  It takes nothing to get him worked up.

Betty, we went to Applebe's for supper.  We had the 9oz serloin steak with parmasean shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes, onion rings, cheese sticks as an appetizer, and we shared a pina colada.  It was SO good.

Queen, I wish I would've known.  If he was close to you, I'm sure he would have arranged for you to have a helicopter ride.  :o  He's a great pilot - you would've been perfectly safe.  ;D  I've always had sinus problems.  When I was younger, my nose would bleed every time the barametric pressure changed.  Then, as I got older, I could tell when it was going to rain because I'd get sinus headaches.  Ever since the yeast infection in my lungs last year, I no longer get headaches when the weather changes, I just can't breathe.  Personally, I'd like to go back to the headaches.  800mg of ibuprofin and I'd be good as gold.  I'm still taking Zertec every morning and using Aspepro nasal spray that Mim's new ENT gave us samples for.  I use it once in the am and once before I go to bed.  It helps some, but not always.

The party was good, and both girls (Mini and #4) had a great time.  There was some misunderstanding about stuff the little girl was "giving away".  We got a call from her dad that she wanted it all back.  The girls cried, but it was truly just a misunderstanding between what the girl wanted to give away (and the dad initially approved) and what mom didn't want given away once she found out.  I'll bring it back to them after dance class on Monday night.

Mim isn't doing a whole lot better.  You'd seriously never know what was wrong with her if she didn't tell you.  She said her head feels like someone is using it as a punching bag.  I gave her a dose of ibuprofin hoping it will stop the banging enough for her sleep.  Tuesday can't get here soon enough for me.

Tomorrow we're having a catered Valentine lunch at church.  It's a buffet with stuffed chicken breasts, roast beef, potatoes and gravy, green beans, 3 salads, desserts and drinks for $5 / person.  The kids eat free, but they'll be eating in a different room and having nuggets, fries, and (sugar-free) cupcakes.  8 people eating for $10 and I don't have to cook or clean up - I'm there.

Nothing else much going on.  I'm going to take a quick trip through the forums and post an update in Mini's LW thread.  Hope everyone had a wonderful day.

Love to you all!

Good Morning Ladies. I hope everyone had a great Valentine's day.             Just a quick post cause I had to say:                                                              Queen, that is the best news. I am so glad that your son got sent to a boot camp in stead of prison. I am very glad that he is happy and will only have to be there a year. Glad the car is finally going to get fixed. I will be buying another car as soon as my tax refund comes back.                   Speaking of whores, I am still a dragon cave whore as anyone can see by my sig. I am completely addicted to it.                                                                   Mum, I am glad that you and hubby had a good date, that is wonderful.             Evertone else, you know I love ya. Take care and have a great day. I will check back in later    Cristy

Morning ladies,

Camms, I want to take my granddaughter to see Coraline (if she wants to see it).  It looks like a good movie.  You really should write a book on how to get discounts or free stuff.  I would buy it.  I'm always looking for a deal.

Queen, yeah, I know movies are expensive to see.  Here, if you go to the first showing of the movie (if it's playing in the afternoon as well as the evening), it's $5.00.  I always take in my own water, and candy if I want some.  I really didn't keep up with the Friday the 13th's after the second one.  Wasn't that the one where Jason had his mother's head in like some shrine?

Mum, it sounds like you had a good dinner.  I'm glad the party went well.  It's funny how kids give things away their parents don't want them to.  Hey, you can't beat that dinner deal at your church.  It sounds yummy.

Cristy, what's going on?

Yesterday's graduation of my best friend's son went well.  It's a technical school for the disabled.  The boy who graduated has Tourette's and some other things, which I'm not really sure of (like bipolar).  He went through their culinary program.  I'm really happy for him.  My best friend has been drug-free for 20 years, but her ex, the kid's father, still uses (heroin).  The father has hep C and cirrhosis from the continual drug use (he's in his late 50's and has been using for over 30 years).  They told him he wasn't a candidate for a liver replacement because his body is too tore up.  Anyway, the kid was with his father last week, and saw his father doing a drug deal (the father is now selling heroin).  The father also got into a car wreck, and threatened his son so the son would lie to the police about who was at fault.  What an asshole.  So, I'm glad for the kid that he got to graduate and get a diploma.  He needs good things in his life.

Today I'm going to color my roots.  Then at 5:00 this evening, I'm taking my grandkids their Valentine's day present (I got them Madagascar 2).  My granddaughter said the "mother" is going to order pizza and they want me to eat with them.  Before I go over there, I'll probably write the other paper that's due in one of my classes.  That's my plans.  I hope you ladies have a good day.

Queen- movies here are $10.50 which is unreal.  I remember when they were only $4.50.  Our town had a cinema that had a $1.99 special.  It was slightly behind the first releases.  Good news for your son.  Sounds like you have some really good things happening.

Mum-  Wow, your church really has some nice spreads.  I can't complain because we also have some hearty post church meals in basement.  It's also a nice way to catch up with some of the other folks i don't see too often.  Some people are recent widows and this is their only social outlet.  So if I can spend a little time with them, it takes away a little bit of that loneliness  or sadness that they maybe experiencing.   Still thinking of mini.  At least the party sounded like fun despite the minor confusion.

BT-  Sometimes I forget that you're a grandmother.  I'm pretty close to your age, but I wish my evil grandmother (drama mamma) had been like you. She  never took me anywhere and when she did something always went awry.  I'll save that for another time.
Glad the graduation went well for this young man.  I love to hear stories where someone has so many obstacles, both physically and mentally (issues with his a hole dad) and becomes an over comer.  It's really inspiring.

Coraline is incredibly imaginative but there are some really spooky and just plain scary scenes.  Funny how different children react to different ideas of scary.  I think I'm still traumatized when  I saw "Bambi" when I was five.  Bambi's mom was shot and til this day I can remember my friend and I crying our eyes out.  The following week my father took the family to see "Towering Inferno" a disaster film about a fire that over takes a newly built san fran structure.  Not one tear or shutter from the film.  It was also relative to my life because my dad was chief of Jersey City fire departments.  I never thought anything bad could ever happen to him.    The irony is that it was the food that almost killed him.  He got food poisoning at the station and was given last rights and had about a week to live.  Wow, I'm sorry I got way of subject.

Let me walk away from this keyboard and breathe.

Hope you all enjoy this Sunday.

Tend, Viv, Snow and Christy....hope you are doing well.

Hugs,

Camms

Betty, I'm so proud of your friend's son.  I love hearing success stories, especially for those typically thought of as not standing a chance.  Good for him!  We watched Madagascar 2 last night with the kids.  We got it for them for Valentine's Day, too.  Great minds think alike!  There's 1 scene i can do without, but overall it was a GREAT movie.

Have fun with the grandkids. How is your daughter doing?  When is she due? Good luck with your paper - 3 months and counting down!

Camm, we'll probably rent Coraline and watch it before we let the kids see it.  We never know what will upset our oldest.  There are shows / movies that we avoid believing it will cause him nightmares  he ends up being  fine with, and then things that we think are "easy" and he has to leave the room.  That's one of the big reasons we'd rather rent them.  When he left during Prince Caspian, Hubby had to leave with him, which left me with the other 5 kids - YIKES!  He was fine with the 1st movie, so we thought it would be OK - silly us!

Our middle daughter is a lot easier - if it's breathing, she's afraid of it.  Movies don't seem to bother her, though.  Go figure.

Dinner was amazingly delicious, but I am so full!  We ended up bringing home the equivelant of another plate because we couldn't eat everything.  Hubby'll eat it for supper tonight.  You know it's bad when I'm thirsty and am too full to drink a glass of water.  Now I'm trying to let everything digest before we go back tonight.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.  Monday'll come way too soon.

Netta- CONGRATULATIONS!!! Wow!

Mum- I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner

Cam- I'm with you about Bambi. All of those Disney movies are so sad. A lot of kids in my class have read Coraline. The movie previews don't really interest me. I might just get the book.

Betty- What a nice story. I hope that boy's father can not bring any more heartache. Enjoy your day with your grandchildren.

Well, I have done absolutely nothing today. I just laid around and watched T.V. and played games. Today was my birthday and that made me very sad. My family called and it was all I could do not to cry. My sister just texted me. I thought that was kind of lame. When my dad called and asked what I wanted to do I told him I really don't want to do anything. Of course he wouldn't let it be so I had to cut the conversation short so I wouldn't cry. I guess I just don't feel like there is anything to celebrate. I mean I know I am alive and everything but I'm just very lonely... :'( Ok...I don't want to be a downer. There are plenty of people who have it worse than me.

On another note...my precious dog Vivian, also known as "The Beast", got out when I opened the door and proceded to tear after another dog. The couple who own the dog are my neighbors and they and their dog is so sweet. The said he was ok but I was sooooooo embarrassed! I told them that if anything was wrong let me know. My dog is so bad!!! I told them she has never bit another dog but she can be scary when she comes out all confrontational. I think I will leave a card for them. I just feel so bad. Oh well...
Have a good night everyone.

Netta- You go girl! You are too funny! Congratulations, what a beautiful couple.

Viv- I am sorry you are feeling so sad.  I know it doesn't feel like it but it will get better overtime.  It makes it so hard when people really have no idea of what you are going through, especially family.  Happy Birthday!  Your dog is too funny, sounds like she has short mans disease.

My dogs are driving me nuts right now.  The little one has taken to licking the big one in the mouth and it sounds like they are making out. UUggH!  I wish I could figure out how to post a pic.

Camm- I feel you on the cold Grandmother, my fathers mother wouldn't talk to you for years if you said or did anything she didn't like.  That is crazy about your Dad getting food poisoning.  I hope he made it through all right.

BT- How did your roots come out?

Mum- Glad dinner went so well. Is Mini feeling better.  That is so wierd that you have to give back something that was given to the kids.  If I was that mother I would feel like a total ass.

We just laid low this weekend.  I was pissed off Friday.  2 of the kids had a valentines party on Thursday and I sent in 60 valentines with bags of candy(they all got passed out) and the other 2 had thier party on Friday and I sent in 80 more.  So needless to say I spent a lot of time and some money on them, and they brought all but 20 of them home because the teacher wouldn't let them pass them out for some reason. Oh well.  The kids are one vacations this week and I hope to take them to the museum, movies and where ever else is cheap :) Tuesday movies here are $5.50...Thank goodness.

Snow- LOL!!!! I totally know what you are talking about! My dog licks her hands and that sound DRIVES ME CRAZY! I can't stand it! I have a spray bottle is use with her and that makes her stop. She is so smart though and sometimes she just goes into the other room where I can't see or hear her. Too funny!

I wonder why the teacher didn't let the kids pass out the stuff? Huh...On Friday the kids passed out all kinds of goodies.

Morning Ladies ;)

Its been a while.

I have not been feeling well for the couple of days, but I went to see a doctor and he gave me some antibiotics for the flu I had.
Nothing much, but at work people are stressing because of the retrenchment. We are waiting for the new structures to be announced and the letters for those who are not on in the new structiures.

I think that also contributed into me not feeling well.

Let me leave now, meetings all the time in this place.I will try to keep up with the conversations.

Happy

Morning ladies,

Camms, Bambi made me cry, so did Dumbo.  I only read the stories when I was little 'cause we weren't allowed to go to the theater (I was raised Adventist).  I did see the movie though when I was older and thought, 'geez, what are they trying to do to kids?'  So I take it your dad made it through the food poisoning.  Are both your parents still alive?

Mum, my cat is like your middle daughter to the extreme-she's scared of anything that breathes, and also movies scare her.  My daughter's alright, just working all the time, thanks for asking.  She's due June 16.

Netta, wow, congratulations!  I wish you continued happiness!

Andrea, I'm sorry about your birthday being a bummer.  Why is it that it gets you so down?  About your dog, you know, dogs will be dogs.  I wouldn't be too embarassed.

Snow, my roots came out alright, even though I got pissed about 1/2 of the way through doing it.  I wonder why your kids had to bring home those valentine's.  I would call or send a note asking the teacher(s) about it.  I really would; I don't appreciate things being done like that without an explanation.

Happy, I hope your job stays secure.

Tendai, I'm glad you got to see Mr. O-O-T this weekend.  My best friend's daughter and her husband don't get each other anything for V. day either.  They think it's a waste of money.

Last night went well at my grandkids'.  Their "mother" is retiring in 7 weeks (I don't think I ever mentioned she's in her 50's).  I don't know yet what she's going to do about insurance, but hopefully she'll figure it out before she retires and loses hers.  She's been working for Frito-Lay for 30 some years.  She drives a truck.  Anyway, the grandkids like the movie, we watched it, ate pizza, and my granddaughter showed me 3 photo albums, and we played around on her little keyboard.  She has some science project she's working on where she's supposed to get colors out of colors.  My grandson didn't want me to leave.  I had a nice time.

Today, I start the diet the dietician gave me to use.  She divided everything according to starches, fats, etc.  I told her I was eating chocolate before bed.  She told me she hasn't eaten chocolate or sugarey things in 8 months.  I asked her how she quit and she said "I had a heartattack."  (She's diabetic also).  That got my attention a little bit.  So, we'll see how this diet goes.  I'm also supposed to go to the Y today.  Hopefully it will work out this time.  I'm a bit nervous that I'm going to look ancient compared to the younger people who go there.  I also hope I do alright with the exercise routine and don't make a fool of myself.

Other than that, I have to type out the papers for one of my classes (all 3 of them).  Have a good one ladies.

Good Morning!

Tendai- I hear you about Valentine's Day. I agree. Why is it one day is the day you should show your love? I think it's a marketing scheme, although I wouldn't mind having a Valentine... ;)

Betty-Good for you! Your starting to eat right and exercise. I wouldn't worry about the other people at the Y being younger. I don't think they are paying attention. You know I'm not sure why I am so down. It has nothing to do with being older since I've never really felt my age. I think it's just where my life is at. I never really thought I would be alone at 34 and I never thought my family would just fall apart. I think I'm just going through a rough patch.

Well I have today off and I am going to hang out with my friend. I am going to have to cut it kind of short since I did absolutely no work this weekend and I have to get my lesson plans done and some stuff graded. It's raining here today and I just love the sound of it.

Have a good day everyone!

Good Monday Morning-

Congrats Nettie, that's great news.  You two look really happy in your photo.

Viv-  Tomorrow with be my 3 year mark.  The day after presidents day.  Yesterday, was really difficult.  I thought I was past it but sometimes the pity party shows up and you're the only one attending.  When we say we know what you're going through, we really do.  But with all things, we have our good days and bad days.  Happy belated Birthday.  I hope today is better for you.

Snow-  You're gesture was kind and thoughtful towards the other kids with your gesture for the valentines party.  It's too bad that the end result was not what you had wanted but in the end you did a nice thing.

Tendai-  glad to hear from you and your weekend with mr out of town.  What kind of films do they show in your area?

BT-  My father was dying in the hospital.  I was 9 at the time and was down at my evil grandmothers.  She told us that my father wasn't going to last another few days.  I was hysterical stuck down in Virginia.  A priest came in and gave him his last rights.  But miraculously he pulled through.  The doctors were amazed.  That's what changed my father's life forever.  They left the church and a few years later went back to school to become pastors.  They have since retired.  My father had a church when my grandmother got sick.  She had a nurse at home hospice and my mother would go their everyday.  She was brutal towards my mother and went through 9 nurses.   They stepped down from the church cause it was too much.  They are alive and well.  They have a group of friends they go out dancing with and always on the go.

Well ladies, I'm off to the ID doctor to get my results and give more blood. Wish me well.  I will post back later with my results.

Big hugs,

Camms

Hello Everyone-

Well I'm happy to report that I am undetectable for the first time.....
VL is < than 45.  When I started the trial 3 months ago I was at 13,000.
Cd4 # 374.  Originally, (3 months ago) 174 when I had the blip.
Strange thing is 3 years ago when I first got tested I was at 383.
Cd% is 31%.  3 months ago 16%
Cholesterol is 191.  Good cholesterol is 75.  Triglycerides were excellent.  I forgot the number but remember her telling me and both saying oh good..good.
This was the news I needed to hear today and I am feeling upbeat.

Ok-  going back to studying.

Thank you Ladies, I am still in shock myself, but very happy. My husband is very good to me, after all the hell i've been through, God saved the best for last.
My colonoscopy was normal, thank god
went to the doctor, last week, my viral load is up and it should be undetectable, my doctor got on my case about me taking my meds and my husband agreed and is staying on my case, reminding me when to take them, I know I have to do better, I have built up a resistance to a lot of the meds, so it is important for me to take my meds  and on time. I guess I never took it too serious before.
I hope all is well.

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day. My husband forgot to even say Happy Valentine's day, but we were up visiting his mom who is in the hospital so I guess I'll forgive him. My mother in law is getting better but is so weak she'll need to go to a nursing home for PT before she can come home. She's been through a lot and is old for her age. She's Cajun and that spunk has seen her through so much but she's just getting tired of fighting. I love her dearly and hope to have her here a little longer. Please add her to your prayers.

Vivyt - Happy Belated Birthday!  :-* from Lucas

Queen - I'm glad your son got boot camp, instead of prison. Indiana PA is a nice area. I went to school  there. It rains a lot, but the fall leaves are beautiful.

Netta - Congratulations on your nuptials! I know taking medication can be hard but please take care of yourself.

Camms - Congratulations on the latest test results.

I have great news and some bad for Lucas. His test results came today. He is still undetectable. CD4 1298 and 40%  ;D 8). BUN 17 & creat 0.37  :). Unfortunately he is having some problems from the CP  :(. We are waiting for new leg braces to arrive. He is having trouble with trying to walk on his toes and worsening turning of the ankle. Also he is scheduled for surgery on March 3 for his eyes :'(. But over all he is doing well and is a typical 2 year old seeing how far he can push mom  :D ;) ::).  Speaking of which, I got to run. Take care everyone.

Great numbers! Camm  :D

#1Mom- Nice to see you again.  Sorry to hear about Lucas' CP, I hope the new braces work for him.  What kind of eye surgery is he having?

My mother watches a man in his 30's or early 40's with special needs.  When his parents go away, she stays with him.  I was just thinking the other day that when I had my oldest son, she and him, came to the hospital and he was the first male to hold my son.  His father had took off and didn't come back until it was time for to leave.   So tonight she tells me," I know and I was kinda worried".  I said" about what?"  Well, you told me after you got out about your status and I was worried something would happen to him and I would have to tell his parents.  I took you to my nurse, didn't she explain everything to you. Yes, but the baby was on meds too?  I don't know whether to laugh or cry.  It's like I don't even speak English or my mother hasn't listened to a word I have said for past 10 years.  So finally I just said," Mom, they weren't have unprotected sex or shooting drugs, he was fine.  I guess it is a good thing she is only I have told in my family.

Wow!  I miss 1 DAY and Netta runs off and gets married!  LOL...that'll teach me not to check in every day ;)  Congratulatios, girl!  What a beautiful couple you make.  Take those meds, hun, you got another reason to live.

Camms, congrats on your numbers, hun.  You are certainly going in the right direction.

Mom, I'm sorry about Lucas.  Mini went through several different DAFOs (leg braces) from the time she was 8mths old - 6yrs old.  It's looking like she'll need another pair before long, too.  Congrats on his numbers - he's doing great on that front!

Tomorrow morning is Mini's puke test (VNG).  We see Daniel (ENT) Wed. morning to get the results.  Her tracking it horrible and not quite sure what we can do for her.  The pharmacy that's been filling Mim's prescriptions told us today that they can no longer get Zerit - there distributor is out!  My first reaction was "YEAH!!!!" but then I got worried.  We counted pills at home, in my purse, and at my parents' house and we have enough for 6 days.  The pharmacy can get the generic form, but insurance won't pay for it.  So, she's going to try and get the liquid (YUCK!!).  We see the PID on March 9th, and then we have a Zerit burning party ;D (or we have a going away party for Doc).

I'll stop in tomorrow and let you know how the testing goes.  Fingers crossed that when she pukes - she misses me!

Mum

Snow, we posted at the same time.  When I told my family about Mim's HIV, my uncle looked me in the eye and said, "How STUPID can you be bringing home an AIDS baby?"  I walked away.  I'm not sure what Hubby's family knows.  It's not like we've hidden it, but they're complete denialists and still refer to my child as "that little girl".

Snow - Thanks for the support. Lucas has intermittent exotropic strabismus. Basically that means that when he looks at something, especially at a distance, one of his eyes will turn out towards his ear. We've done vision therapy exercises but it has gotten worse. If the eyes are not working together you either have double vision or your brain will choose to ignore the information from one eye. When that happens you loose your depth perception. The surgery will move the muscle on the ear side of the eyes so it doesn't pull the eye so hard. It is only outpatient surgery, but I hate that he needs it. Once the surgery is done his eyes will hopefully be aligned. We'll do the vision therapy exercises again and hopefully the eyes will start working together all the time. Besides the vision benefit, the eye doctor thinks this may help with his balance. I hope and pray she's right.

Mum - Thanks for the support. It helps knowing there is someone who's "been there, done that" that I can talk to. I've never heard of an insurance paying for brand name, but not generic before. I hope it works out alright. I'm sorry Mini has to go through the puke test. I hope it gives you the answers you need. I'll keep mini in my prayers.

Morning ladies,

Andrea, I've got to tell you, I'm happy being alone (well, besides my cat).  I think some people are cut out for marriage, others aren't.  I don't exactly have the best of pickers when it comes to a partner, and I'm a bit selfish, in that I don't want to have to worry about whether another adult is happy, and I want to do what I want to do.  So, don't feel bad that you're alone human wise.  You do have your dog. :)  Family issues are extremely hard, harder than other people issues.  It's all a process, and you're doing well by being in therapy.

Camms, congratulations on your numbers.  That's great about your parents.  Near-death experiences tend to change a lot of people.  Once in awhile I think about becoming a minister, but I usually change my mind pretty fast.  There's a book I want to check out at the library called "The Children are Free."  Last semester, the teacher ran off the first chapter for us, and we wrote reflection papers on it.  It's about debunking the Bible "clobber verses" concerning homosexuality.  It was very good and spot on.  There's a lot of merit to it also, as the book tells in the beginning pages.  Well, I'm starting to ramble.

Netta, I'm glad your colonoscopy was normal.  It's very important to take our meds.  The alternative is much, much worse.

#1 mom, wow, Lucas' numbers are very good; that's great.  I'm so sorry about his leg problems and having to have eye surgery.  I hope things go well in both cases.

Snow, sometimes family doesn't hear the logical things about a disease.  It's like they already have it set in their minds how things in their realities are.  Just take it with a grain of salt.  Your mom will come around sooner or later.

Mum, good luck to you and Min on her puke test today.  I feel so bad for her that she has to go through it, but hopefully it will give you some answers you need.

Today I'm going to attempt to start exercising.  I bought myself a few bandanas to wear around my head when I go, because I'm not going to get myself all prettied up to exercise.  People are just gonna have to like me the way I am, or not.  Yesterday, the trainer showed me the machines to use and exactly what to do with them.  He also made sure I could use them properly, and adjusted the weight. He was very helpful.  And most of the people using the equipment were older, so that made me feel a bit better.  I'd really like to get the exercising over in the morning, so I can take a shower before night falls, and I'm hoping it's not all the young crowds in the morning, that there's some older people there.  I'm going to come home right after and shower.  I have a terrible fear of public showers.  I'll put on a bathing suit and rinse off if I ever go in the pool, but I'm not taking my clothes off, and showering etc. there.  Anyway, wish me luck on doing the exercises.  I'm sure going to need it.

My pastor is supposed to be by this afternoon.  I'm having an issue I think she will be able to help me with.  And this evening, I'm supposed to go to my school and order my cap and gown.  They're going to have other things there, like class rings, picture packages etc., but I'm not into all that hype.  Other than those things, I have nothing earth shattering planned.  You all have a good day.

Good morning ladies.                                                                                         Netta, congratulations, that is such wonderful news. I wish you all the happiness that you so richly deserve.                                                                                                       Andrea, happy belated birthday. sorry you weren't really pleased about it.                                                                                                                Snow, that seems odd , that the teacher wouldn't let the children hand out Valentine's stuff. Maybe the children were so excited that they ALL were misbehaving. That is the only reason I can think of that would make the teacher do something like that.                                Betty, that is great about exercising. I bet you get hit on by some hottie, You are beautiful inside and out. I need to exercise, I feel like a fat cow but I know I am not. Might have something to do with eating that WHOLE box of cookies the other day. I feel ya about being married or even having a partner. I have my son and my cats and while sometimes I would like a partner, it's easier for me to be single.  I hope you and your pastor work out your issue.   Minismum, good luck with the puke test, lol. Hopefully it will help determine why mini is having such bad ear problems.                               I know I did not reply to everyone but I must get off the computer in 8 minutes so I don't tie up the phone lines. Today is my rescheduled conference with Robert's teacher. Hopefully it will go well.    Hope everyone has a great day. Camms, #1 mom, Happy1976, tendai, Hope you all have a great day. Later.   Cristy

Good Morning! All I could think of this morning was, "Rain, rain, go away..." It rained all nigh and into the morning. We definitely need it though. Thank you all for the birthday wishes.

Cristy- I hope the conference goes well

Betty- I totally hear you about the positives in regards to not having to worry about anyone. I agree that I think what makes it more difficult is the family angst. And I do thing my dog makes me feel less lonely... :) Enjoy your workout today. I have a mental picture about you in your headband... ;D

#1- That's too bad about Lucas's eye. Is it HIV related?

Netta-Take those meds! Like Betty said, the alternative is much worse. I was on that worse side before I started taking meds and it definitely wasn't pretty.

Well ladies, it is a rainy Tuesday and I am going back to work after a 3 day weekend. I did very little over the weekend which means I have to make up for it tonight.

Later!
Andrea

YEAH BETTY!! It's cap and gown ordering day!!  That means all the hard work is about to pay off!!  I'm so excited for you! :-* ;D

Mom: our #6 has that same problem, but not as bad as Lucas.  Her's was able to be corrected with glasses, but she has no periphrial vision in her right eye.  Mim's 1st pair of braces were so tiny that now her Cabbage Patch doll wears them.  Her last ones were crayon pink with a Barbie "tatoo" on each ankle.

Mim made it through her testing without getting sick.  Some of the tests I had to turn my head for fear I'd be the one grabbing the trash can.  I'd brought a clean shirt for each of us and a dose of Pepto just in case, but we didn't need either of them.  There were some tears during one of the last tests.  She had to wear these huge goggle things that looked like an oversized diving mask.  They put a shield over the goggles so she was in total darkness, then put her in a semi-sitting position.  Cold air (27C) was blown into her right ear.  It didn't take long before she got scared and started crying.

The ladies were WONDERFUL with her.  They took off the goggles and let Mim take as much time as she needed to calm down.  We brought some of her Littlest Petshop animals so I put one in each hand and rubbed her arms.  After a while, she was able to continue.  The tester kept her talking during the test by asking Mim about her trips to the beach, favorite animals, ect.  After it was repeated on her left ear, it was done again with hot air.  She made it - and I was so proud of her.

The test must have scrambled her brains.  She has been extra foggy today.  Hubby is taking her to dance class, but I'm not sure how much she'll be able to accomplish.  He's also going to video tape her dance so we can work with her at home.

Tomorrow we get the results and I'll make sure to post them here as soon as I can.

mum - I'm glad the test was puke free ;). Mini is in my prayers.

Betty - Cap and Gowns way to go! Good luck with the exercise, I know it's hard to start.

Vivyt - No it's related to his Cerebral Palsy.

Mum- WOW! Sounds like Mini was a trooper today, nice to hear it went well and was puke free for both of you.

Mom #1- My son had eye surgery, last year sometime.  Both of his eyes wander.  He just had day surgery on the left and uses glasses to correct the right.  He has had glasses since 11 months. I hope things go well for Lucas.  My son's went well except that when I went into the pharmacy to get his pain meds, his father didn't watch him close enough and he rubbed his eye and one of the strings popped out of the corner of his eye.  It really creeped me out but it was fine.

BT- Hope the excercising went well today. Just remember when you wake up tomorrow, no pain no gain :)  I have a faulty picker too, big time.

cjc- Hope the conference went well today.

I took the kids to see Hotel for dogs and they loved it.  It was cute.  There were 2 guys with 5 kids infront of me getting tickets.  The kids ages ranged from maybe 12 8,7,6 to 2.  They were going to see Friday the 13th.  I couldn't believe it, that poor little one  especially ,is going to have nightmares.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Viv- We are supposed to be getting the rain storm you had there, here tomorrow, but in the form of snow :(

Morning ladies,

Cristy, believe me, if I get hit on by a hottie, they're going to have to revive me from fainting.  How did the conference with Robert's teacher go?

Andrea, actually, I wear a bandana over my head when I exercise, since I don't wash my hair before I go in the morings.  I hope you got caught up with the work you had to do.

Mum, I'm glad Min made it through the tests.  They sound dreadful and something I wouldn't want to experience.  I hope they find what's causing her problems with the ears and dizziness.

#1 mom, how's Lucas?

Snow, isn't it insane what some parents will allow real little kids to see?  It's like they have no value system of their own.  When my daughter was little, I wouldn't even let her watch The Simpsons until she was 12.

Yesterday morning at the Y went pretty well.  I did a cardio machine for an hour.  I was actually surprised I was able to stay on it that long.  It's like a sit-down elliptical machine (I can't do anything like the treadmill, as my knees won't hold up my weight that long).  Anyway, it was a good workout.  Today I'm going to attempt to do the weights.  Wish me luck.

I ordered my cap and gown last night.  They were selling, of course, photo packages, invitations and school rings, none of which I really care about.  Where do people get all the money for that anyway?  I remember I got a class ring when I was in high school, but that's been lost for years.  And there was this one younger girl there who's getting done with her bachelor's in criminal justice, and has now decided she wants to also get the bachelor's in psychology.  I'm thinking "are you crazy?"  I've had about enough studying, why someone would want more is beyond me.  It's not like that's going to make one any more employable.  Maybe she wants more student loans.

Anyway, I'm taking some food over to a friend of mine today (who's crazy), and making some couscous, and going to class tonight.  Hopefully I'll get all this accomplished.  You all have a good one.

Gppd Morning Ladies

Snow and Mum-  The disclosure stories are really heartbreaking.   I can only imagine what you must have felt.  Pre- HIV, my ex mother in law moved seven doors down from me.  In my town, two blocks away "the Center" was built, which is a place that homes 24 people with Aids.  Its an amazing place. http://www.thecenterinap.com/centerhouse.html.  Anyway, my ex mom in law was always complaining "that this horror house was being built and why should our town blah blah blah.  I remember getting in arguments with her time after time.  Can you imagine when she bought it up after dx.

Mum-  I'm glad mini made it through the tests.  Praying for great test results. Glad that you see Dr. Daniel today to go over all of your questions and concerns.

Bt-  that's great that you have a trainer.  Really helps when your starting off and walk into a endless room of equipment. It can be very confusin. Sounds like you did well on the cardio...an hour is excellent.  BTW-  i have good knees so I tried the ellipitical  machine last summer.  I call it the cryptical machine cause its a mystery that anyone can work it.  It feels sooo unnatural.

Christy - so how  was the conference?

Snow-  one of the strings popped out of his eye socket when he rubbed his eyes?  Was it muscle?

Nothing really happening. I had to drive a girl friend to the hospital two hours away because her 87 year old  mother slipped into a coma and is dying.  She's a DNR.  It was really hard to see the family in so much pain.  I told her that I would drive her to the funeral also, since her ex took the car.
I see my shrink today and have plenty to say.

Talk to you ladies later,

Camms

Good Morning ladies. Just a quick post. The conference went well. Robert is showing great improvement since we are going over his words more and I am helping him to write simple sentences. I have also been letting him read to me, the words that he knows. I did have to make a Monday appointment with the lady that does attendance so we can try to work something out. He can only miss 1 more day of school or he gets automatically retained. It is state policy but if he can do all the work, then they will not hold him back. So I will be working extra  to make sure he passes. We will see what the lady says Monday. Hope everyone has a great day and I will check in later.  Cristy

BT- Glad the excercising went well. I don't think I could do an hour of anything at this point. I never got a class ring from high school, they were a couple of hundred and my parents just didn't have the money.  Some people make full time jobs out of going to school, it must be nice to have money too, I guess.  I know, it seems like after the Simpsons came out just because it was a cartoon, it didn't mean it was kid-oriented. I have learned that with Family Guy.

Camm- LOL, no it was the string or whatever was used to tie off his eye muscle.

cjc-How old is Robert again? My little ones are in kindegarten and it just blows my mind, the stuff they need to know these days.  I need to work with them everyday, reading and writing.  I never thought it would be so hard as a righty to teach a lefty to write. My daughter and one of the boys are lefties and go about writing totally different. It doesn't help that neither of them are interested in school at this point. Thank goodness the 3rd one is or I would be bald right now.

It is cold here today, don't know if we will do much here today.

We just got back from Dr. Daniel and my head is still spinning.  I posted the full results of Mim's VNG in LW under her thread.  Pretty much, she flunked and it doesn't look good.  The results are consistent with her having CNS lesions.  She has an MRI scheduled for Monday afternoon at 2pm - with her pre-op stuff at 11:45.  We'll have the results by the end of the week.

Sorry this is short and one-sided, but I'm still trying to process it all.

I was just breezing through, but I have to say, Mum, you and Min are both in my thoughts and prayers.  I am so saddened to hear this and will be thinking of you guys all night.  Big hugs to both of you. :-* :-*  I'll answer everyone else tomorrow.
