Film Critic Roger Ebert Dies...
« on: April 05, 2013, 03:07:28 pm »
I, and millions of others, enjoyed watching Siskel and Ebert movie reviews.

Ebert clearly had a passion for his line of work. The Pulitzer Prize he received ain't nothing to sneeze at either.  ;)

Agree or disagree with his reviews, "two thumbs up!" for his work passion.

RIP.

I had the pleasure of attending one of Ebert's talks on the film Vertigo in Honolulu years ago. Amazing, gave me a whole new perspective on movies.  And not just a great critic, but a great example for those dealing with serious health issues.  RIP.

He was a national institution.  Don't think we'll have critics rise to this stature, in the future, now that media is so enormous....

This New Yorker got fed up with Pauline Kael by the late 80's, never warmed to any particular critic in the Voice, nor David Denby.  Roger Ebert was a godsend.

His 3 books "The Great Movies" are indispensably useful for any movie fan.  They are also great reading and testify to his awesome career...
