Well...
I've got some pics to post but not sure if this site will allow me yet to do more than one per post (looking at the calendar and rolling my eyes).
Still need to figure out how to use my new camera anyway which leads me into this tale of adventure...
Eight of us decided to go to the fundraiser at Jackhammer for a local ASO (I think). The cab (a van) pulled up to our hotel and we all piled in even though he said it was a 6 person limit. (this was after an afternoon of...well, another tale...) :o
A few of us ended up on the floor feeling like hostages on a trip to the North Shore. One good bump and my camera screen cracked in my back pocket. (dumb, I know) ::) I think he was getting us there in speedy fashion for a reason. ;)
We all got a bite to eat at the diner across the street prior to entering into the "complex" of... well, let's just say it was quite the combination of clever marketing. ;)
The ride back (2 separate cabs) was even speedier for good reason. LOL. ::)
(not needed but I DID get a kick out of the sign in the cab stating the $50.00 vomit cleanup charge.)
Anyone care to elaborate? Maybe not. :-X ;D

The sedate dinner that Mike (bocker) and I shared paled in the comparison to this wild and wooly evening by the rest of the group..... just sayin'

Good thing Wumpy wasn't around -- we would have NEVER gotten her out of The Hole.......... just imagine!!! :o
Oh wait -- she is about to play the proper Granny role.
So then -- I did hear tales of Trey in said Hole..........

LOL! Thanks, now I have an image in my mind forever embedded about a proper Granny in The Hole. ::)
(maybe even dressed like a clown?) :)

Those of use with extreme non-attendance remorse want to live vicariously through you. Around you. In you.

I had the impression that ANY ATTIRE was improper attire in "The Hole." Not wishing to be a tattle tale, but these complications were enhanced by copious rounds of cinnamon schnapps. Talk about a combustible mix (and not to forget the flaming napkins.....)
-
(and not to forget the flaming napkins.....)
Well yes -- alcohol, fire breathing, a pile of napkins and a "power top" bartender make for a hair-raising experience to say the least. Especially in a cozy and intimate setting. Yikes!!!

I do not know how I missed the flame throwing fire ?
But I do know the Powere' Top Grabbed me and gave me a kiss
the next night like we were lovers :o
It was a great little place ,
Last night as Eric and I went to Bear night in Connecticut :-X ,
I missed the friendliness of Chicago and my friends new and old :-*

I might be confused (imagine that), but weren't the hole and flaming napkins 2 different evenings?
If I remember correctly, hole night was when I was fortunate enough to get lost and ended up at a straight bar. ;D
If anyone has pics, I'm giving my consent to post them. Not sure if we ever accomplished a group pic. My straight ladies have already emailed me and indicated they would follow up with pics. I still can't believe they want to show up wherever we go next year.
We all had a blast with them. Also being shy, I can't believe how I just ingratiated myself into their group.

Did you guys enjoy the Halsted market days ?
When you guys came from the EL down to the corner Belmont and Halsted , I lived on the top floor of one of those building for 10 years or more .

Market days was ok and I'm glad we got to attend, but it was way too crowded. Perhaps we attended at the worst time possible, but it was impossible to try and shop. The views were awesome though. Especially the toga party dancers on the balcony above us. I ended up with a sore neck standing directly under them, straining for a better view.

To be honest , market days was a lot of work for me because I worked in a bar in the middle of it . They money was good but it was nonstop noise and long hours for me . If not for the cash infusion I would have been over it .

Hell raiser went nowhere near the Hole. I was busy that night with my straight friends and a little late night solo adventure in Boystown.

We did get some culture along the way...
A visit to the Science Museum. We all scattered. I think Mark and I were the only ones to see the sub.

It was almost like Kenny had too many Lemondrops!! You remember THAT feeling, now don't you Jan?? ;D :-*
All those photos on the terrace seem very tame -- for what was a wild afternoon. You can see the ladies behind Fisher hootin' and hollerin'. As the ONLY sober one there -- it was an afternoon to experience. ::) Actually a fun time was had by all........ even me.
Hugs,

Hey all,
First to arrive, I am the last to arrive home - a few hours ago.
I will post photos soon, promise.
Now, first, the flaming napkins was Friday, I think. That was the night the power top bartender did a number of tricks (I will say no more) and the wheels of familiarity were greased with Goldschlauger. Or, that's was what I think it was.
The 7 or 8 hour meet-and-greet was tremendously fun. I, of course, was shy and demure - well, sort of. I didn't know the boy was just 21.
Oh, and those ladies who were hooting are also the ladies who kept supplying us with jello shots. Amazing how they mix with scotch on the rocks.
The night we went to Boys Town was a hoot. The food at the diner was fun. By the way, the attire in "the Hole" was less is more.
Of course, mum is the word on Geronimo and the encounter in the men's room.
Our dear Wolfie and I had an adventure while attempting to find our way home one night. The Russian we met on the street was interesting.
I saw President Obama's house, but couldn't stop because the secret service were giving us a jaundiced eye.
We ate fabulous food, had an incredible time and I had the pleasure of renewing old friendships and making some wonderful new ones.
Oh, a party without Keniesha, Mitch and Fisher would be unthinkable.
I am somewhat fatigued at this point, but I will post more later.
HUGS,
Mark
(Edited because I think I was more tired than I thought.)
-
I think Mark has just succintly summed up that memorable five days in Chicago!

The Magnificent Mile was beautiful! The plantings were unique along both sides of the street and in the center median. Each block seemed to have a different theme.

From the Magnificent Mile to the Miraculous mile... miraculous that we made it! :P :)
We took the bus to go to Millennium Park. We got off just mere steps blocks what seemed like miles away. Actually the park wasn't too far but then we walked from there to Navy Pier. This is one of our rest stops.

Nick, Mark, Kenny and I had Japanese BBQ on our last night. It was delish! The food kept coming and coming!!
We chose a prefixed dinner off the menu. The dessert cracked me up. S'mores. :)

After careful review, I realized this was taken in the hotel room. Therefore, it was a probably a blue silk tank and slutty shorts. ;D
PS, you all do realize that I didn't even check ANY luggage this year. baby steps. ;)

GREAT PICTURES GUYS!! 8)
Thanks for sharing----Ray 8)

Kenny took a few pics with his camera along the way. Most were pretty fuzzy. ::) hmm... how could THAT have happened? :)
Anyway, this one goes out to Carl. :)
I tied the sweater around my neck to confirm his expectations of me being a Connecticut snooty snob. Can you say Grey Poupon? ;D
(I was kinda shocked that he put his arm around me for the picture. tee hee)

more nonsense at the Second Story Bar...

It should be pointed out the Michigan avenue (ten lanes wide...with a median in the middle) is ONE block west of the hotel. :D

Gary,
Do you really think Wolfie knew where West was? I told him I wanted to spin him like a top and he would have a better chance of getting wherever he was going. ;D

I could always trust those around me with hi-tech phones to give me the proper directions. ;D Remind me again who walked an extra mile and half not realizing the beach was immediately behind the building we were shopping in?

OK, here are some photos, I think.
My desk top computer keeps crashing on me, and I am trying to do this with an old lap top.

His complete lack of sense of direction and inability to read signs had me rolling all weekend. :)
I first met Greg in Seattle. He was telling me how he got lost going from the arrival gate at the airport to the luggage carrousel. I knew then I liked him. I teased him and told him finally there was someone at these gatherings who would even make me look good.

Wonderful pics and looks like fun time was shared once again ... one day!

Loving the pics. It is nice to put faces with names. And, it gives all us virgins a glimpse of what it is like. Were pics posted from D.C.? Anyway, everyone was looking very good.
I wish I would have gone, now. It has been a while, since I was last in Chicago. I love the Willis Tower ledge pic. I remember my legs shaking, just walking to the floor to ceiling windows. They didn't have the ledge then.
Glad to see you guys having a good time.

I encourage everyone who is able to come next year. Don't be worried about fitting in or being shy. It's literally like being amongst friends you've known forever. I wasn't even the slightest but nervous or anxious.

Not to mention that once we start drinking (literally immediately) the inhibitions just vanish. I will leave to your fertile imaginations what takes their place!
Robert- you were missed again! Yes, Greg wanders aimlessly even more than you. It would be fun to see the two of you talk a walk together. God alone knows where you would wind up, but it would be interesting.
Jody- you were also missed (as were our "regulars RAB, Jan, Basquo & co., the Davids & Bonnie and anyone I inadvertently omitted.)
Hope we can reunite wherever next year as well as encourage our "fence sitters" to attend. After this many years, almost everyone has continued to have an awesome, memorable, fun and fulfilling experience.

Absolutely love the picture of Henry and me... he has a special way of making anyone look better by just being in the frame with them. That was a wonderful late morning on the sky terrace, Friday I am sure.

I could always trust those around me with hi-tech phones to give me the proper directions. ;D Remind me again who walked an extra mile and half not realizing the beach was immediately behind the building we were shopping in?
Hey now...
The distance was the same. We just went down and over instead of over and down but I DO admit it would have been a better view going the other way. Brain fog moment. And hi-tech phone guy Kenny got you to the L for your departure. Unfortunately it was in the wrong direction. ::) (he still feels guilty)
So, in conclusion, I've decided I'm 3rd in line with a bad sense of direction. ;D

Thanks for the pics Mark!
So when do we start the thread about the AMG 2014 destination? :)
-
Great photo's Mark, it was great seeing old the old mates again, (although we did get to spend time with Henry in NO) and of course seeing the new faces this year.
Ted...I don't remember any being posted from Washington DC, but I will have a wee look for you, some photo's of the guys who didn't make it this year will be hanging around somewhere.

Can you say Grey Poupon? ;D
(I was kinda shocked that he put his arm around me for the picture. tee hee)
I was going to to grab something else :-X
I love the Connecticut Snob look ,
Weasel
P.S Mitchee Poo , I will be visiting .................. ;)

Loving the pics. It is nice to put faces with names. And, it gives all us virgins a glimpse of what it is like.
I wish I would have gone, now.
Ted,
I wish you were there. Putting faces to the names with pictures is always nice but meeting people face to face was incredible!
It was an experience that I will never forget.
Hope to see you next year!

I must talk these events way too much as every person I've run into since returning wanted details of my trip. ;D Luckily, my perpetual grin/smile doesn't give much away as I always look like I'm up to something, or had just already did it.

Well you also have a middle aged female fanbase ready to go for next year's destination

Although it will be "our" turn to provide the shooters next year!

My ladies have already been in contact. Hard to believe that being so shy I could garner such a following. I really enjoyed our impromptu party with them. They hugged several of us the next morning as they were leaving and said it was the best time they ever had at their "gathering". Wolfie pleases again. :O
We started our entire conversation over smokes and the fact that I could tell she was only a size 4. I was being polite as that's my size and she's clearly a size 5, but we all know how women are. lol

Why do you know your size in women's clothing? :) :) :) :) :)

Hellraiser - Doesn't everyone? :)
Thank God the Fisher Moon hasn't shown above the horizon again. . .

I posted a few, but we have to be careful as not everyone is comfortable with their photos being posted. This year was kinda unique as not one person had an issue so we were able to snap away. Except, I was only using my cell phone and the pictures sucked. Hoping Mark sends them all to me via email.
