Thank you admins, I really appreciate the amount of information and assurance you are imparting here. I am trying to get over my worries while my mind is making me stick to another.

I want to ask your opinion/information about what is considered as open vs closed wound in terms of HIV transmission medically? An hour old wound with top layer of skin peeled off, which is tender and pink but not bleeding, is it considered an open wound and susceptible to HIV transmission?

The concern I have is,
-Around 1 hour after biting the skin around fingernail (while not bleeding but pink tender skin visible) I made the mistake of fingering a CSW.
-Also as I get calluses on hands after pull ups which I press and trim with nail clipper many times leaving tender pink wound there. And I was doing it during that day.

If vaginal/anal secretions of a HIV prone CSW touch these wounds will it lead to HIV transmission?

This is giving me chills down the spine and my appetite and sleep are lost since 3 days. (The incident happened 3 days before). Please help with your guidance.

ordone,

Fingering, no matter how much you chew on your fingers, is not a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has ever been infected this way and you will not be the first.

You have NOT had a risk. You do NOT need to test over fingering.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST FOR HIV SPECIFICALLY OVER FINGERING, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thank you very much Ann. I just wanted to hear it from an expert. I went to two doctors past days, one said due to thin skin, there is a transmission risk. The other said the risk is too low to warrant PEP. And as the time for PEP is passing by my anxiety is striking me with thunderstorms. I really want hear that there is no ground for such worries if such tender wounds touch the secretions of HIV+ person.

The amount of stress and trauma I am experiencing since three days is already giving me different kind of health problems. Hope information will help me calm down now. Thank you.

ordone,

Good lord man, you don't need PEP just because you fingered someone. Hiv doesn't stand an ice-cube's chance in hell of being transmitted through fingering.

Hiv is transmitted through unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse, through sharing drug injecting equipment and sometimes from mother to baby in the womb or during birth. And that's IT.

Calm down. You weren't at risk.

Thank you very much Ann. Actually I am suffering from fear and trauma since one of the doctors I discussed said due to the wounds you describe it falls in low risk category and taking PEP is your decision now. I didn't take PEP as from what I've read online but as the 72 hours time passed by my worries are growing more and more.

I also read the forum before posting so that I ask what I should. Following are my concern (Kindly asses and advise me):-

1. Wet frotting/rubbing her vagina over my wet underwear while my penis had some sensitive skin inside due to masturbation.
2. Squeezing of her nipple with lips with a recently(one day before) healed sore under the lip (little white but not paining).
3. Fingering with the finger having non intact skin.
4. Touching her over body and over (wet) genitals with non intact skin as mentioned above.

These are the list of sins I am thinking over, searching, reading, crying and praying for my safety. I am literally so much scared right now. It is because this life is connected to loved ones whom I am responsible for. I just don't understand how did I dare to act such irresponsibly. I hope experts here will help me with your advise. Thank you very much for your reply. I sincerely appreciate and thank you.

SINS! Now wonder you're worrying over nothing if you are thinking about those non-risk sexual activities as "sins."

I'm going to repeat just once again what Ann has said to you: nothing you are reporting of your activities put you at risk for HIV.

Stop with all the drama and get on with your life. There is no need for testing nor for further concern on your part.

Thank you very much Andy for reply. I hope I can get my appetite and sleep soon. So I take the above non intact skin contact to her fluids and other activities as NO risk right? I never needed PEP? Thank you very much.

That's right. There was no risk and you never needed PEP. Get on with your life.

You're welcome. Testing is strictly for your peace of mind because you did not have a risk.

Ordone,

I removed the new thread you started. Not only are you not permitted to start new threads, but you are in no position to lecture us on outlandish quackery that you think will have the slightest effect on the hiv infection a positive person is living with. You simply have no idea what you're talking about. The changes in pH balance that will damage hiv happens OUTSIDE the body, not inside.

Don't do it again.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!

I am really very sorry Ann. It was too much of obsessive thinking by me, and making me worried again & again. I was trying to help and didn't know I was so much bizarre in what I was saying. I apologize again.

I went to the CSW I mentioned to ask if she tested for HIV and she said she test every 2 month. But I was not able to be very confident over her answer.

I hope you will forgive me and answer me one question. The lady picked up a tissue (wet in semen perhaps from earlier person who just left with different lady) and touched that hand on my shirt. While coming out, I wiped my mouth in shirt. My lips were cracked and definitely a bit bleeding. (This is the second day when I went there to only ask her. I didn't do anything but still scared.)

Can u please tell me if there is a risk from semen on the shirt touching cracked lips with little bleeding?

I know I am thinking too much, but I am really very much worried. Sorry for being nag. Thank you for your help.

@khan123 I do not want to be rude but you are also here regarding your concerns. I am requesting assessment from informed admins here to get over my worries. You may call it OCD. Yes I am very worried not because of me but because of people connected to my life. And my concern above is not the old one.

When doctors themselves give conflicting opinions, the scare about HIV becomes more pronounced. Rather than ending this life in depression and guilt, I am trying to come out of the depression.

I want to know if there is a risk if there is semen in hands which touch the shirt and then get smeared on small bleeding wounds.  Admins here would be in better position to asses and answer with a proper reason. Hope you understand

Khan,

As if you're in any position to give anyone hiv advice. News flash - YOU'RE NOT!!!

For your blatant disregard of our rules, I'm giving you that time out you were warned about. Do not attempt to create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned.

Of course it's not a risk. You've already been told what IS a risk, and this semen touching shirt touching small wound touching crap doesn't qualify as a risk.
