CROI: Nanoparticle technology creates a once-a-month HIV drug

According to the text, it is not sci-fi, it is really something that stands a good chance of becoming a reality, Tibotec is working on thiis. Also, once this technology becomes available, it could also used for prevention, PREP, pre-exposure prophylaxis. A once a month injection seems to be much more  viable as PREP, much more than having to take pills every time before a possible exposure.

I wonder if this delivery method will reduce side-effects.........in any case, getting a booster shot once a month beats popping pills daily or more.

Science never ceases to offer me hope.

Be interesting to see if this ever makes it into the mainstream treatment stream.  Would definately be a valid option, especially for those that are non-adherent.
