CD4 counts, I have a ?
« on: April 19, 2007, 09:27:49 pm »
My friend's count is about 400, I do not have HIV and I'm very worried for him, could someone give me a quick explanation as to if this is a good number, whats an average number for someone who doesn't have HIV or AIDS, I do know that under 200, it's AIDS. Thanks so much and reading all these stories and the courage you all have, I've gone through a large box of Kleenex tonight.  Also, does the cd4 count ever change, meaning if he's at 400 now, is it possible to ever go up at all, or does that number just keeping going down and down? Is there a chance it might get higher with the medicines and such?

400 is pretty good, but you need to look at evolution of the numbers, and not only the CD4 count. You need to look at the viral load, the CD4 percentage, etc.. Search for those terms in this forum, you will find plenty of posts about that.

Keywords: CD4 count viral load percentage

You cannot base anything on just one result.
