stupid or successful ?
« on: November 22, 2010, 07:12:44 pm »
I am not too well at the moment, am recovering from really pushing my body to catch a train, that if I had missed would off had financial costs, but that's all. I enjoy travelling, when I was well I would put up with quite a degree off discomfort, now I make plans to avoid it but will still chose over land to air any time.

However I took an enormous risk in pushing myself so hard on Sunday that it has shocked me, and I hope I learn from it . By the time I was on the train I was drenched in sweat, heart pounding , legs shaking 10 Min's later I threw up then sunk into a sleep. Woke up with full body pains and temp.

My determination has been usefull in the past it would be ironic to say the least if it also produced another heart attack, I did not have my heart spray with me as I have fallen out off the habit off carrying it

Feeling a bit confused with my self at the moment

Theyer,

I would say you should be careful and try to plan ahead.

Hope you feel better.

Best.

I agree with OneTampa.  Try to plan ahead and give yourself extra time when you can. Definately start carrying your heart spray, it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Take care,
Snow

Wow Theyer, that doesn't sound good.  I agree that you need to give yourself plenty of extra time when you're traveling, so you don't stress your body out so much.  I didn't know you've had a heart attack in the past.  So you need to be extra careful.  I hope you're able to rest now, and let your body recover.

Hey Theyer,

That doesn't sound good. Please be careful with yourself.

I know that isn't always easy, especially when traveling.

Try to rest and recouperate.

HUGS,

Thanks everbody
Well today I left the flat to go and have bloods and pick up heart spray ( tucked in pocket } And I am clearer about the incident.  Since the last chemo I had hoped to regain the health I had ,but I have not and indeed cannot as some off the damage is permanent. Daily life adapts to the limitations the body has, and when I rushed for the train I was not following my usual gentle lead into the day. Part off me wanted to carry on believing that was my choice, but the reality is I have no choice any more regarding the limitations set down on a damaged body.

Theyer, I know what you mean about wanting your body to be "like it used to be."  I feel that way a lot also.  Especially if I see an old picture of myself, when I was in my early's 20's, I think "wow, I used to be good looking."  Also, before my knees got to be shot b/c of the avascular necrosis, and other things, I really took my health for granted.  What can we do, except carry on, and go forward, even if it's only a little bit.  Glad you're carrying your heart spray; hopefully you'll go slow enough so you won't have to use it much.  Thanks for posting what you did!

Hey Theyer,

I understand what you are saying about the damaged body not doing what you think it ought to.

Even this recent bout with pneumonia has set me back a bit, and it was nothing compared to what you have been through.

Please be kind to yourself.

HUGS,

Mark
