1969, you caught my attention in the regular email since 1969 is the year I graduated. I have been poz for 12 years now and I know how you feel. It can be very depressing trying to live normally without others knowing about your condition. This is an excellent room for information and also to communicate with others who may be worse off, or handling our disease better. I recently sent my Doctor the study on depression that was sent from this site about how tough it is to live in this world that still is more homophobic than not, and also that still has an innate fear of anyone who is positive or worse. I asked him to consider starting a group of poz's that are treated at the University. It is wonderful to have everyone here to fall back on and read and care about, but it does get lonely. I personally would like to mingle with bodies and talk and enjoy each others company sometimes. Please be happy that you have a partner that cares for you and brings those chocolates to cheer you up. Hang in there and listen to our friends here who help so many of us get by day to day.

I can identify with the lonely and isolated feeling very well. There are times when my day is at its slowest and my mind is not preoccupied with other things that I begin to quietly reflect. HIV always comes up in my mind. It usually gets me into a self loathing mood (not for very long). It reminds me of why I am single and I remember all the times folks ask me "hey why are you single?" Even my friends that know I am poz still can't understand or identify because they have are not in my situation. Eventually I remember all the positive things (no pun intended) HIV brought into my life, refocusing and establishing goals, slowing down my crazy life etc etc.
